I dunno...after seeing this years E3 conference I was left thinking..what the fuck. Where is all the stuff that makes us hardcore gamers happy. I mean they said animal crossing was there...but can you really consider that a hardcore game? Personally I got bored with that after a few weeks...

And yea, I'm one of those people whining about the fact Nintendo is mainly focusing on the casual market. The conference for Microsoft was pretty impressive...unfortunately I missed the PS3 conference so not sure what went on there.

What about you guys? What do you all think?

I think the fact that most of the time, you can't find a Wii or WiiFit in stock, whereas Sony has announced a multi-BILLION dollar loss (thus far!) on their system, says everything. Nintendo's not only going after the casual market - they've GOT the casual market. And I like how a lot of Sony's "improvements" look a lot like things you get on Wii...

Sony needs your money more - stick with them if you're a hardcore gamer.

I like the direction nintendo is going in. I think they're returning to their roots way back when they introduced the famicom (family computer). The Wii can be enjoyed by a lot of different people, from my grandparents to my neices/nephews. The DS lite is also cool but I mainly play brain age and sudoku with it. I think they had to be more family friendly or they would have been completely shut down by Xbox and Sony.

Nintendo never really focuses on the hardcore gamers. They are all about everyone having fun and making addicting games.

i love nintendo's strategy and i was real impressed with Wii Sports Resort and Wii Music.

I'd have to say I'm a mid core gamer and if not for Wii I'd probably not bought a console this time around, i was really starting to much prefer portable games. Nintendo has made games a lot funner and more inclusive and they expanded on it a lot at E3.

my bf is one of those new gamers and he plays it more than i do lol

the conference was a bit of a let down for me but at the same time most newspapers and tv had news about all nintendos new stuff and ignored the stuff that gamers cared about from sony and microsoft

here just watch this ;)

Mad world definitely looks like it will be great. Plus I feel a bit better knowing that the Zelda team is working on a new Zelda game. I'm just greedy, want it all now I guess. But good things come to those who wait, so hopefully the new Zelda game will be extra awesome.
