Just did it...

Now, everything looks blurry and wierd, and even the most basic of programs
are freezing up .

Hmm, uninstall and go back to '6' ? (Or, 6.5... I forget)

You'd think they'd work the bugs out before launching this crap on us. #-o

I'm always hearing how folks have been having troubles with IE7. I guess for once I was lucky in something. ;)

It worked fine for me (SHOCK! I know!).

Firefox (or Opera) all the way.

^^I tried Firefox once but it kept freezing up on me, so I uninstalled it.

We downloaded IE7 at work and fucked up our computer. I use Firefox at home and LOVE IT!!! Only complaint is that I can't use the auto scroll on my laptop? Don't know why cause it will work on IE but not firefox?

IE7 has been working fine. But I know what you're talking about with the fuzzy text. But I've got used to it.

Firefox rocks:D

i think the stability issues have been adderessed as it dosent crash for me anymore:D

Joshua_me,

Are you using the IE 7 on a computer that has a TFT screen, or one of those huge ass bulky CRT screens?

everything looks blurry and wierd
IE7 turns on Cleartype.

Rightclick on your desktop, properties, somewhere in a tab there should be "effects", switch off antialiasing for text.

I absolutely love IE7, it has nifty tabbed windows, runs seamless with all my applications, and never have had a single glitch.

Unfortunately I cant say the same for firefox, which likes to butcher webpages and bombard me with annoying security prompts!
99% of all Firefox users see it the other way round. IE7 butchers websites, FF had nifty tabbed windows for 5 years now.

i used firefox for a while but it has memory sinks in it

im told that the latest version of it fixed that problem, but i;m leery

ie 7 is a pain in the ass though, so i may reexamine firefox soon

I have IE7 on my laptop and it has worked great from day one. I installed it on my PC and things mucked up. I went to msn live onecare and ran the free PC scan/fix etc., and it fixed up my PC and everything is running fantastic now, including IE7.
I don't like firefox due to the pre-loading crap while searching so uninstalled it.
I guess it's all personal preference like everything else. Try one care and see if that fixes you up.

IE7 was a bit buggy for Me too. I just uninstalled it and went back to bug free Firefox. That company is notorious for introducing new software before all the bugs are fixed.](*,)

I figure if you wait about a year or so after a Microsoft product is launched it should be pretty safe to install.

I was stuck with win98 first edition for awhile and had many problems. Now I have xp sp2 and it works great.

We will see how many problems come up when Vista is launched.

IE7 is great, finally tabs with IE. And the nice litle zoom function is nice.

That said you should download and keep firefox on your computer even if you don't use it exclusively.

we dl'ed IE7...Lots of things screwed up on the computer and lots of things went wonky. So now Im using Firefox. I should have started using firefox a long time ago. I like it much better.

Oh yea, and after we downloading IE7 microsof notified out computer that we may have an illegal copy of Windows and had this permanent notification on our screen. Seems if Windows came pre installed on the computer like it did with ours, microsoft was all confused....so i spent like 2 hours on the phone with microsoft support until we got it all sorted out and stopped getting notifications that our Windows was a bootleg.

Again...Firefox all the way for me from now on.

I downloaded IE7 just to see if it was better than IE6 (I hate 6...) and yeah, it had some improvements, but I prefer Firefox.

IE7 works, but besides new icons, tabbed browsing and a phishing filter that I don't trust (you know, Microsoft products always have huge security flaws), I don't find it different from IE6. However, I have to acknowledge that making Windows Explorer and IE stand-alone applications again is a good idea... that is implemented in the resource-hungry Windows Vista.
