From Buzzgasm ...
A big Tabloid Baby razz to radio station KISS 106.1 in Seattle, for trying to humilate the hometown teenager who's been the brightest light of this American Idol season (and we don't mean Jordin).

The station invited good-natured and charismatic Sanjaya Malakar to appear at a promotional concert over the weekend, featuring the busty Idol also-ran Katharine McPhee, Fergie, Lily Allen and Hillary Duff-- but when he got onstage, he was blindsided by a bunch of drag queens-- and the song "It's Raining Men"-- apparently in a bid to to turn him into a "gay" joke.

Sanjaya has already been forced to "declare" himself straight in an interview with People magazine. But even if he did happen to be gay, so what? And why make fun of anyone for that reason?

Radio stations are big these days on suspending and firing jocks for offensive behaviour on the air. How about suspending or firing these homophobic clowns? Oh, right. They can't-- because management was obviously in on it.
Lucky for Sanjaya, he's bigger than Seattle.

Complain to KISS 106.1 here. Like Ryan says, do it often.

:(... poor guy... it was awful to see him just like... try and shrug it off... but it just couldn't be done... sanjaya is a great performer and knows how to own the stage.. but not after THAt... poor... poor sanjaya..

Wow...where were you during the idol season? He cant sing, hes tone deaf, he takes any job like a duch, and hes become the walk joke of American Idol. The guy has a lower self-steeem than Donald Trumps Credit rating!

I LOVE Sanjaya and thought this was hilarious, but I do wonder if it was over the line. It doesn't look like that bothered him that much so I dunno. People are way to quick to jump on Sanjaya and call him talentless, he's enjoying himself and I will be buying the first CD!!!

I concur with surge. I'm not a fan of Sanjaya at all, but no one should be subjected to that...

And to all of those who can't get over his looks and his ability (or lack thereof) to sing... Get over it! My freaking goodness! Imagine if that was you? I'd bet the last thing you would want is people talking about how bad a performer etc., you are! Come on people! Stop being so heartless!

The issue is NOT sanjaya, but the fact that people are getting away with publicly humiliating someone because the believe he'e 'gay'... Let him live his life. If he's gay, good for him. My goodness, people are going to send him into an early grave!

End rant...

Poor kid.

The thing is that Sanjaya knew exactly what was going to down and he agreed to go on stage and everything. I have heard two different interviews one before the event (him telling what to expect) and another interview from him afterwards (saying that he knew what was planned and everything). There was no attack...no malice. It was all done in good fun and Sanjaya seemed to enjoy it as well.

That's lame, even I wouldn't have appreciated that... well maybe...

I don't know, I like Sanjaya, just because he has become so famous for being very untalented lol.. oh well... more power to him :-)

I expected a queen to throw down and tackle him or something, where the hell is the attack?

Yea thats what I was expecting... I personally don't really like Sanjaya at all, he ruined Idol while he was on it IMO I was so happy when he got kicked off ..| But this is going a little to far... I admit I did laugh at first then I felt sorry for him after I read about the whole thing.
