Hey. For any YNR' fans that may be here, I've got a question. Do you honestly think Dru is dead? I just personally don't know what to think. First of all, this is YNR, who have had Sheila Carter come back back 6 or 7 times from near death, so with that in mind I believed they would find her too somewhere down the falls. BUT, leaving it so long without finding her, and then finding her coat PAST the falls, could they have really killed Dru off? I also just hear them say that it dropped well below -40 last night.

I don't know which one to think anymore, YNR has really confused me on this one. So what do others think?

I haven't watched in a while but i do know that Victoria Rowell the actress that plays her, wanted to leave the show for good so if she is dead it will be for good and the part would not be recast.

Shhhhhhhh!!!! Some of us watch "The Young & The Restless" on SoapNet's Saturday Night Marathon. ;)

Rowell left because her name was left off the Emmy Pre-Nom ballot in what was probably the busiest year ever of her 17-year-career on "The Young & The Restless."

Y&R did pretty much turn the store over to her Drucilla Winters character in 2006 but whether that is good enough reason to leave your job, I dunno. It's rumoured that this too is the reason Genie Francis left "General Hospital" almost five years ago.

She's certainly not dead. Rowell will probably keep herself busy and come back to the show in a couple of years. Check out her bittersweet interview in the April 10 issue of Soap Opera Digest. She pretty much tells it like it is even going as far as to say: "I have not only been in the business of acting, but I've been in the business of lifting the whole show."

I've watched for years and the one given is that no one is ever dead......she will be back someday.....there is a lot of dead weight they could get rid of on the show as far as I'm concerned.....is anyone as boring as Brad Carlton????There was a time when the show was alot more interesting but some years ago they decided to go with the whole "business" thing...everyone works for either Jabot or Newman and I find all this busness talk pretty boring......also the musical chairs on relationships recently is just too far fetched.... I'm down to about two days a week and I think that eventually I'll just stop....it's not the show it used to be.......

No one dies on soap operas--not even if they recover the body. Stefano DiMera on Days died on screen one time and they brought him back. Dru's alive. She's having tea at the bottom of the lake with Phillip Chancellor and John Abbot.

For what it's worth..the last of the Winters clan to go over a cliff surfaced year or two later...when he was between outside jobs.(remember, they found Malcolm in Africa...after he'd been dead for a year or two and starred in a failed prime time show).I'm guessing that if they recast or Ms Rowell gets over herself, Dru will turn up, having suffered from amnesia or been in a coma. That's just how things work in Genoa City.

As far as Sheila Carter goes...a really good villan NEVER dies. According to an interview with Michelle Stafford, Sheila will be back and Kimberlin Brown(the REAL Sheila) will be back in the part. Can't wait.

Well Dru does fall off a cliff and falls into the river. They may have a tough time explaining that one if she ever shows up again. But weirder things have happened. Where is this evidence that Kimberlin Brown will be back?

Victoria Rowell is one of the MAIN reasons why I watch Y&R. Victoria is an amazing actress she and Kristoff St. John are incredible actors. Victoria and Kristoff are special and without Victoria the show will not be the same. . I can UNDERSTAND Victoria's hurt by how she has been treated by the people at Y&R. Girlfriend has had a solid career beyond Y&R unlike many of the actors on the show she's done well BEYOND the show. She's a good actress she deserves a lot of respect.

Not really, didn't Malcolm suffer the same fate in Africa or wherever and he popped up again after everyone thought he died.

Ms Rowell should have had an Emmy by now but such is life. Katherine Kelly Lang has done it all with Brooke and she has not even a nomination to show for it. At least Victoria R got a nomination.

Falling over a cliff and disappearing into a raging river is such a soap cliche. It has been used in virtually ever soap opera in history. As "newboy12" pointed out, the same thing happened to Malcolm on Y&R just a few years ago.

Nobody ever truly dies on a soap. Even when the character dies on screen (such as when B&B's Taylor died in Ridge's arms several years ago), they always find a way to bring them back when the actor who left the role expresses a desire to return.

Victoria Rowell is an amazing actress and she will find work wherever she goes. If she does decide to return to Y&R some day, the door will be wide open for her.

BTW, "newboy12," I totally agree with you that Katherine Kelly Lang is long overdue to be recognized for her 20 non-stop years of playing one of the greatest heroines in soap opera history on B&B. She is the most underrated actress in daytime, in my opinion.

The rumor is that Kimberlin Brown is in talks to bring Sheila Carter to ...As The World Turns. I've seen this on both the Y&R and B&B message boards.

Might as well because she will be forever be typecast as Sheila, if she tried to play a different character all people would see is Sheila.

How can Sheila even fit into a storyline at ATWT?

Not that unusual for some Y&R/ATWT synergy. It's currently being explored right now as ATWT's Kelly Menighan Hensley's Emily has been crossing over to Y&R in the storyline involving her sister Allison and the prostitution/porn website storyline involving Amber from Y&R.

What might get sticky, though (for Sheila) is that Robin Mattson who played Sugar/Sheila on "The Bold & The Beautiful" is now on ATWT playing an evil femme fatale pimp.

For anyone wondering, the divine and unforgettable Victoria Rowell (Drucilla) has left Y&R... so yes, chances are, Drucilla's really dead... unless they recast.

Also, she cited as a big even major reason for her leaving and writing her own book was the producers refused to allow her to direct and/or write for the show. She believed the show would have benefitted from a black writer or director. I don't know what expereince she has, but I know Susan Flannery (Stephanie) has directed several episodes of B&B...I can see where a show with African Americans would benefit from a writer of the same race...Having watched Y&R three decades, it was one of the last soaps to integrate the show. Amy and Carl Lewis were the first black characters on the show...That was in the early 80's - long after ABC had made black characters( AMC , Frank, Carolyn and Nancy, OLTL, Ed and Carla Hall and GH, Claudia and Brian and EON - Calvin Stoner and Didi Banniste) principle actors on the show....I think you pick your battles however and maybe she would have continued to move this subject to the forefront of she had stayed with the show....Incidentally, B&B has not been known for showcasing black characters...I've watched it since it began in 87 and they only had four AA characters on contract at different times....So, I hail Rowell's choice to stand up for what she believes, but I will miss her dearly. She is an outstanding actress with great range - Look out Halle Berry.

She was the first Page on OLTL...He is such a brillant actress, I never really thought of the Sheila character...so, I don't think she is per se typecast...but she had an incredible run in daytime as Sheila. Now it is time for her to lay that character to rest....

Might as well because she will be forever be typecast as Sheila, if she tried to play a different character all people would see is Sheila.

State the obvious, why don't you. I mean what is it! What is it about! Why the hell isn't it on in the UK??!

It's a daytime soap opera. Here in the US, it's the #1 rated soap on television.

As for the character of Drucilla Winters, she (along with Phyllis Summers Abbott Newman) are my favorite characters on the show. Fabulous actresses! Here's a few Dru clips...

"You don't give a good kitty about my son!"

And here's Drucilla drunk. Love it!
