I'm thinking about buying a pair of earphones. I have a some Sennheiser folding headphones that are great, but I want something I can stick in my pocket. The Apple earphones that came with my iPod are crap.

I'd love to spend less than $60, but could maybe go up a bit.

I listen to all kinds of music, from Classical to Rock to Pop. I don't need a lot of bass.

I also don't require pristine sound quality, just something decent.

Thanks.

You need quality:
Koss PortaPro, can't really stick it into your pocket though.

Skullcandy is amazing...I have had them for so long. They are very durable, can withstand absurdly high volume and look nice, plus affordable. : ) I wouldn't advise running with them though...the noise reduction is so great it's borderline dangerous.

I have these at the moment:

I don't have much experience with skullcandy's products but as far as my experience with FMJ goes, it sounds very dull. To simply put this, when compare with Nuforce NE7M, the bass was lacking in amount as well as weak. Treble is good but less sharper.

If you don't mind shelling out more, like $70, I suggest you go for JVC Victor(woody). I don't have Sennheiser IE-8 but people, who has it, told that Victor is on par with it. You'll be surprised to hear how this little thing can produce every nuances of music - like subtle beats and reverb of guitar strings. It's like full blown stereo. And very stylish too.

blacksyringe, get your ears checked. Skullcandy are some of the worst earphones out there. You pay for the (admittedly) good design and for the name. They have good bass, but piss-poor mids and treble.

For quality stay with the classic brands like Sennheiser, Koss, AKG, Shure...

^Everyone here seems to have Skullcandy, but I've heard the same thing.

Skullcandy headphones are good for working out and not much else. If you want to actually hear your music as it was meant to be heard, avoid them at all costs.
