Back to Creepy Old Fart
I knew this was going to happen.
Unpacking freight, putting it out and if there isn't room put in the rabbit warren of stockrooms. After doing this years ago, it isn't rocket science. In fact, it is nearly mind numbing for me. And the pay is pretty good. It is almost the same as I was making 15 years ago with far, far more responsibility.
What is making this hard for me is the lack of direction. I like to know what the entire workday consists of and like to get it done. I used to do this years ago, and for the last 15 years I've been my own boss responsible for everything. This 'finish this then come find me when you are done and I'll find something else for you to do' is driving me batty.
And I have yet to meet anyone of 'authority.'
My mind works from an efficiency point of view. If I'm putting stuff into the stockroom, and I see something that isn't fully stocked out on the sales floor, doesn't it make sense if I haul it out? I've been told by fellow stockpeople that we aren't supposed to do this.
Maybe this is what they are waiting for. Sooner or later I WILL have the opportunity to ask questions of SOMEONE who knows what's going on. So I'm making a list of all my questions and keeping it in my wallet.
Any ideas?
