Now I really hate going to the gym, mostly because
I don't want to count or think or do any kind research what I should do and not do.
So any other exercise then swimming is out of the question.
I Just wanna leave campus, go the the pool and do as many laps as I can for 1-2 hours.
Let the water do the thinking and the clock the counting.
And I don't run/walk unless I need to get somewhere, principals!

Now here is my issue,

I go to the university and stay there from 08:00 to 17:00
I don't leave earlier and I don't go there later then those hours, unless some form of emergency of some sort.
Doesn't matter if we got lectures or not.

I usually eat two toasts for breakfeast before 08:00 then taking the bike to school, takes like 15 minutes.
During those hours, we have lunch at 12:00 (ALWAYS) and I take food from home, but sometimes I eat out because of my inability of making healthy good.
I can't touch dead animals (Fish, chicken, cow. .etc)
So it's either fastfood or vegetables, but I assume I need fish too, so I always go for the healthiest food when eating out.

Now I leave directly to the pool from campus with the bike (I take the bike everywhere)
Takes about a little less then one hour to get there, so let's say I'll be fit for fight at 18:00
and I might be there for 1 to 2 hours, so I'll usually be home at 20:00

Now I can possible take an apple or a banana to eat in the gap between 13:00 and 20:00
But my laptop bag won't let me take more then a _extremly_ tiny towel, clean boxers, food for lunch, fruit and a laptop.

So taking extra food won't be an option.
My only solution is to go home and eat after 17:00 and then directly go to the pool, or eat when I get home.

I _NEED_ my time at the computer at home as well, or I'll end up going mad and slicing my wrists.

So going home before swimming to eat and stay a while is not really an option.

Dunno if it matters or not, but from 08:00 to 17:00 I sit in front of a computer or in a lecture all day...
So the question: Is it okay to eat and hit the pool directly or should I eat late leaving my tummy empty between 13:00 and 20:00

Re: Eating before swimming or swimming before eati

swim before eat is best.

If you really need to eat, just eat a little bit before swim.

Re: Eating before swimming or swimming before eati

I agree. Eat AFTER swimming is better. You can, like Telstra pointed out, eat a little something before swimming but nothing too heavy...I don't know, maybe a yogurt or some chocolate...something light.

And don't eat IMMEDIATELY after swimming. Let your body go back to normal in terms heartbeat, breath and just let it, overall, "calm down".

eat fruits before the swimming, and eat protein afterwards. may i ask what you aim for, lose or gain weight?

Nothing, I'm just plain awesome.

Just that my diet consists of: alcohol, chips, kebab and a shit load of caffeine.
I think I might need exercise if I want to stay alive.

Kebab!!! Damn that shit is so fucking good! Specially the ones with that hollow bread...drives me fucking insane!

Ok...just went a little kebab-berserk now. Gotta breathe and calm down.

How about if I swim early in the morning?
Like 6:30 to 7:30 then go to school?
And no more exercising that day?

That sounds good too. I remember, in primary school, we'd go to the pool first thing in the morning with our teacher, before classes, for about an hour or so, then later on we'd have breakfast and then finally the classes.
Morning is a good time to exercise so...I say go for it! ;)

Re: Eating before swimming or swimming before eati

But is it okay if I take the day of and do no exercising what so ever?
I mean is it enough or will it rob my morning swim session of it's efficiency?

Re: Eating before swimming or swimming before eati

Hmmm...maybe you could do some cardio later in the day, just for a bit. Perhaps doing some jumping rope for a bit or jogging.

Re: Eating before swimming or swimming before eati

It is the best way to do that, swim before anything - you ll be feeling brilliant and so refresh!

I do that all the time, the food before I go to swim is : 2 eggs toasts, porridge with whey and homemade smoothie (strawberries, banana, blueberries, blackberries and milk yum!).

Re: Eating before swimming or swimming before eati

rules rules rules... I've never understood them.

Personally, I can't swim on a completely empty stomach. But I don't like to swim after a big meal either. So I normally eat a light meal before swimming. People think I'm crazy but it works well for me.

Furthermore, I know a lot of people love to swim in the morning. For me, the idea of a cold pool right after sleeping is horrible and I've only done it about two times and didn't like it. I like it at the end of the day.

So I guess what I'm saying is do what works for you. Do it when and how you like. The important thing is that you do it. IF you don't enjoy it, you are less likely to do it. And taking a day off completely is totally acceptable.

Alright, anyway gonna start of tomorrow
Taking the bike from 06:00 to the pool, should be in the water 06:30, and doing some laps until time hits 07:30 (or more depending on lecture times)

Was thinking: Swim, banana(breakfast), lunch, Apple, Dinner
Like 08:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00
