I'm having a problem with Incredimail and hate using Comcast to get my mail,is there any Email program similar to Incredimail?

Isn't Incredimail Spyware?

Why not use a proper mail program like Thunderbird or Windows Mail?

Hey Jouper. I've heard some "interesting" things about Incredimail. I second the Thunderbird recommendation, I use and like it (though haven't tried 3.x yet). And in looking at pics of the Incredimail interface, I don't think it'll be that much of an adjustment for you (minus all that cartoony, colorful stuff) for look and feel and design, but many E-mail clients are modeled on this design so you may not have problems with whatever you choose. Some shots below. There's a page that contains links and tips specifically listing Comcast settings for Thunderbird.

Thank's for everybody for the help! I downloaded Thunderbird and that's doesn't work for me either, any suggestions? :help:

What's wrong with Yahoo mail or Hotmail? I use both (and then some) but prefer Yahoo.
I have Yahoo tied in with Outlook Express too. That costs a few bucks but I want it that way and that's all that matters.

Can you be more specific? Why doesn't Thunderbird "work for you either"? What's not working exactly? Did you review Comcast's setup instructions I linked to, just to enter the correct mail server names, etc.? You can also get some tips here, or Google "thunderbird comcast" to get lots of pages that contain tips and settings, since users are using Comcast successfully with Thunderbird.

I had been using Incredimail for about a year with no problems, the other I had to reboot my PC and reload Incredimail,I entered same email address and the mail will not come through. I keep getting the trying to access message, but never comes through. I downloaded Thunderbird entered email and password and get message wrong email address or password. I belong to alot of yahoo groups and it takes sooooooooo long to go through messages using comcast or yahoo email. Thank's everybody for your suggestions! :help:

Jouper, you need to take a minute or two to configure Thunderbird, not just E-mail/password - you need to enter the server addresses for your account, for instance, along with possibly port numbers, SSL settings, and any other Comcast-specific settings. Some help pages for Comcast with Thunderbird can be found in some of the links I've given you as well as Google'ing. Here's another one:

How To Use Thunderbird on Comcast

And Comcast's support section for E-mail:

E-mail

You can scroll to, say, the "Mail (Macintosh)" or "Outlook Express" areas and adapt what they're telling you to be particular to Thunderbird. Thunderbird's fields and options don't differ significantly from the "Mail (Macintosh)" instructions in terms of server names, ports, etc. - it should be easy for you to find your way.

Maybe someone here who uses Comcast and Thunderbird as a combination can also help you out.

That assumes you're trying to fetch Comcast E-mail; you said in your first post "I hate using Comcast to get my mail", so I assumed you hated using their Webmail interface, but your actual E-mail account belongs to Comcast?

Hope this helps out!

Anyone still use Outlook or Outlook Express? I don't think they work in Windows7 do they???

Outlook is alive and well, and current (it's part of Office 2010, or the prior Office 2007). Used by people at home, but it's also used by a lot of companies that run a Microsoft Exchange mail server and the client integrates E-mail functionality with calendaring abilities, etc. Not my personal client choice, but there are Outlook devotees that like it, and countless office workers who have it shoved down their throat as the client standard. :) Yes, it'll run under Windows 7.

Outlook Express was phased out though, yes - From Wikipedia: "In Windows Vista, Outlook Express was superseded by Windows Mail, then again by Windows Live Mail as separate software in Windows 7."

They are not e-mail programs.

As long as you can SEND and RECEIVE email who cares what it's called? (Besides you)

The most recent version of Outlook Express is "Windows Mail" and you have to look for it (in Vista) or download it.

I'm having another problem, when I go to you tube it says you need to download the latest adobe flash player to view this video,I download it,then go back to you tube and it says the same thing,it's like it's not there. What's going on? :help:

Jouper, you're all over the place! seven2go's solution would work in most cases. But there are other past JUB threads for Adobe Flash problems you can check out as well. Hit up these threads and run the necessary diagnostics/version checkers mentioned:

You're welcome, too, for my and others taking the detailed time in walking you through getting set up with Comcast/Thunderbird!

I'm sorry for being all over the place! I've never had a problem with you tube before and I'm trying to understand WHY? I'm not that computer savvy and don't know which flash player works for my browser. I'm VERY grateful for all the help and advice and obviously need MORE! any suggestions would be grately appreciated! :help:

The adobe site will MOST TIMES automatically choose the proper version for you.
There are "normally" only two choices: Internet Explorer and "everything else"
