Hi, this is embarrassing, but lately I have been sweating a lot in my pants. I'm embarrassed to walk past people. I wear dark pants (to prevent the sweat being noticed). I use Goldbond medicated powder, but it doesn't last all day, and I can't apply the powder at work. What do you suggest I do? I wear boxers, if that matters. Thanks, guys!

The condition is called hyperhidrosis. It usually affects the the underarms, head, feet and hands. Occasionally, people do have it in their groin and butt.

You should see a dermatologist. There are some topical medications you can try. If that doesn't work, then there are some medications that are sometimes effective.

Trim some of the hair, but not all of it! Wear natural, breatheable underwear to keep the heat down.

Are you "over" hydrated? If so, cut back on some water intake.

Try a different powder also, see if you find one that works better. Don't use too much powder or you will have cake batter going on.

We'll need to see some pics too to make sure you are adhering to the regiment :-)

You probably have hyperhidrosis, like I do. Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done about it...there's a few medical remedies, but many don't work and most focus on armpits. I have just given up trying to fight it and usually change my clothes 2 or 3 times a day. Avoiding caffeine helps.

Personally, I smoke pot and it goes away. But I have a medical card. :)

LOL... not quite. Being overhydrated will make you pee a lot. But sweat is not a way the body rids itself of excess water.

The rest of the advice is spot on. (although I've never heard the marijuana cure idea)

Yep...dries you right out...your whole body, that's why weed also makes you thirsty.

Another thing - there are various kinds of sports undergarments that are specifically designed to help with sweat.

Thanks, guys, I really appreciate it. I'm going to check out any over the counter stuff for hyperhidrosis and see if that works first. If not, I'll go to a derm. Thanks, again, you are all sweet for helping me out.
