Mclaren is a good guy. I think that in time he will do the job. He did Boro proud getting them the Carling Cup in 2004 and getting them to the final of the UEFA cup earlier in the year.

I think England do stand a good chance in the European championships!

Come on the lads! :D

Let's not kid on here - we were jammy! What we lack in skill we make up for with passion ;)

It's something I don't understand with the England team either. You've got world-class players and bucket-loads of support from the fans...

... and God help us Scots if you ever pull it all together and actually win another World Cup #-o ;)

D'you think the media are responsible for a lot of negativity? Personally speaking I don't know how any footballer keeps from smacking Hanson, Linekar et al right in the mush! :mad: I know I'd like to!

Perversely enough, it seems to work in Scotland's favour, and we (sometimes!) prove them wrong when they write us off. Shame you guys manage to put the same expression on their mugs by doing the opposite :rolleyes:
 
As I pointed out in another sports thread, McClaren made a big mistake at the beginning of his spell as English manager by not giving the captaincy of England to Steven Gerrard. He must be regretting that mistake now.

Terry is a terrific player: but a leader of men he ain't.
 
Steven Gerrard will be the next captain of England.

McClaren will not see out his 4 year term as England's head coach.

Beckham will have to start playing for Real Madrid before he can be considered for a return to the English team.

England will qualify for Euro 2008.

The media - like death and taxes - cannot be avoided. But you should try.:cool:
