Because someone started the thread about Veronica Mars being cancelled, I wanted to do the same with the show Jericho on CBS. That was one of the few shows I watched and really got into, but alas they had a long midseason hiatus that ultimately killed it off. What's worse is the "season/series finale" was a damn cliffhanger. Anybody elso watch the show Jericho?

I was disappointed as well. Many, many shows suffered this season from the midseason hiatus (heroes, jericho, lost, etc.).

There are rumors that another network/SciFi may pick up Jericho -so we can hope to find out how the cliffhanger is resolved.

mikey

The show was intriguing, but you're right . . . I didn't return immediately after the hiatus because "Friday Night Lights" moved into that time period.
And guess what is going to replace "Jericho"? Another mindless reality show . . . the lower costs apparently appealed to the CBS corporate greed!

another reality show..i guess they figure if they make enough reality shows eventually a few of them will turn out good. hope Jericho gets picked up though by another network.

I was pissed that they killed of Gerald McRaney in the season (now series) finale. There were many people at work who were as disappointed as I.

It was cancelled? How can they cancel it? There was a cliffhanger ending!

ARG! Stupid CBS!

Pirate Master is a summer series, the same way Big Brother is.

You can find the fall scheds for the networks. Never watched it but have suffered the same fate with other shows that never got to end properly.

Actually, in the fall, the show that will occupy Jericho's timeslot is called "Kid Nation". I can't wait..... to watch something else.

PREMISE
Forty plucky kids ranging in age from 8 to 15 spend 40 days without parents or Playstations in Bonanza City, M.M., a ghost town where they try to build a community that works, cooking their own meals, hauling their own water, clearning their own outhouses and even running businesses such as the root beer-dispensing saloon. They also elect four peer leaders who will pass laws and set bedtimes. No one is "voted out" at the town meeting that closes each episode, but any kids who have had enough can simply raise their hands and leave. How many will stick it out?

Jericho gone........

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

me love skeet ulrich

I heard CBS was considering doing a 'wrap up' for the show. I will very much miss Brad Beyer, who played hunky farmhand Stanley. HOT!

They always do that shit....whenever a show gets good they give you a season finale wanting more and then cancel it <--(still bitter about the cancellation of surface and invasion) I didn't even know they canceled Jericho which I was totally into so naturally they would take it off of the air....btw I HATED 7th Heaven and surprise surprise it lasted like 10 seasons.....Life isnt fair...

Well it looks as though CBS is having second thoughts on this show, it could return.
Never under estimate the power of the viewer, especially if they happen to the ones that you want to target.

Jericho' fans assail CBS with 25 tons of peanuts

Story Highlights

• Source: CBS reconsidering decision to axe popular show
• Fan says "educated professionals" are rallying behind show
• Show appeals to young audience; online version well-received
• Network donating 50,000 pounds of protest peanuts to charity

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Fans trumpeting the cause of CBS' canceled drama "Jericho" have caught the network's ear.
CBS, deluged with calls, messages and shipments of nuts signifying viewer displeasure, is reconsidering its decision, a source close to the production said Tuesday.
The source spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly. A decision on whether to bring the show back, probably for a midseason run, is imminent, the source said.
"We are tired of the networks (not just CBS) tossing aside quality programming," was the message carried by jericholives.com, one of several Web sites protesting the cancellation. "Enough! We're going to fight for this one."
Clarke Ingram, a "Jericho" fan from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a spokesman for jericholives, said he was optimistic that CBS would find a way to revive the drama about a Kansas town isolated by a nuclear terrorist attack.
"People would paint this as teenagers in tinfoil hats" rallying behind the show, said Ingram, 50, an operations manager for two radio stations. "That's not what this is. These are educated professionals."
The show's daring premise, its writing and acting make the case for its survival, he said.
Several factors could work in the show's favor: It appeals to the young adult viewers sought by advertisers and was one of CBS' most popular shows streamed online, indicating an audience beyond that measured by traditional ratings.
CBS may also be considering the dent a long hiatus put in the show's viewership, the same scheduling misstep that hurt ABC's "Lost" and NBC's "Heroes."
The network apparently has been impressed by the display of viewer passion, which included the delivery of 50,000 pounds of peanuts to its New York offices. In the season finale, a character replies "Nuts!" to a demand that the beleaguered town of Jericho surrender.
That's the same response that a U.S. general in World War II made to a German demand for surrender at the Battle of the Bulge.
There's already been one positive outcome: CBS is donating the protest peanuts to charities, including one that sends care packages to troops overseas.

They have renewed the show for a limited run next year to try and wrap it up. They will have 7 more episodes. Here is a message from CBS about the return.
Below is a message from Carol Barbee to the fans of Jericho:

Thanks,
CBS Jericho Web Team

Dear Jericho Fans,

You did it. You brought JERICHO back. You have accomplished something that has only ever been done once before in television history. And you did it by becoming a passionate, articulate, creative, undeniable force. You people rock.

At some point in the future, maybe you could work on that world peace thing. I really think you could get it done.

But first things first.

CBS will be rebroadcasting episodes of JERICHO starting this Friday, July 6 at 9pm. We need you all to tune in. We need your friends to tune in. We need people who missed us the first time around to tune in and see what all the fuss is about. Most importantly, we need CBS to see that they were right to renew us. So, what do you say? Up for another challenge?

We, at the show, are forever in your debt. We hope the seven new (unbelievably awesome) episodes we are in the process of making will go towards repaying that debt, as well as getting us a third season. In the meantime, we’ll see you Friday nights at 9pm.

Thank you,

Carol Barbee

Executive Producer, JERICHO
