You say in 2006 that you are 25, so you must be about 28-29.

Why doesn't he have a girlfriend? Does he date? Guess dad isn't too far off the mark if his almost 30 year old son doesn't date and hangs out with his gay best friend all the time.

What's the real story here?
 
If he likes you as a friend, potential fuck buddy or whatever, he should not be embarrased to have you around anybody at any time.

People don't, but sometimes that's the choice they make.
 
What about email or AIM conversations? For some of my best friends, I don't get to see them more than three or four times a year. But we email back and forth and talk on AIM every few days.
 
I find that being honest, straight-forward is the best approach to all situations in life.
