Hi guys.
I've been a bottom my whole gay life (im 33). I've always had a super healthy diet with lots of fibre, I drink about 3L water a day, and I'm very active (gym 5x a week). Piles had never even been on my radar.
About 6 weeks ago I had a nose job and was advised to stay very inactive for 4 weeks due to unusual swelling. That's all gone down, but suddenly (maybe a coincidence or maybe as a result of) I've got 2 large external piles on my hole. They were really sore and swollen when I first noticed them. The swelling has gone down but now I'm left with two rock hard small pea-sized lumps on the outside edge of my hole, and they've been there for about 5-6 weeks now.
I've got a doctors appointment in 2 days and praying they can help.
I've used Anusol/Germaloids for over a month, and even hydrocortisone cream (for 1 week). That helped with the discomfort but I feel that the damage is already done.
I havent had sex since January and I really was looking forward to getting back to it when my nose was healed. Now its a long way off.
Have any of you guys got similar experiences and what did you do about it? Surgery?
My piles are external, theres tonnes online about internal treatments but not much about external :(
Really needing some hope here.

The best treatment for painful external hemorrhoids is surgery but I doubt what you describe is an external hemorrhoid - which can be so painful when it is clotted few can tolerate it for more than a few days. Have a doctor look at it. Maybe an abscess down there or fistula, both of which need to be drained.

Hemorrhoids are one of the most common reasons that patients make an appointment with their doctor. That's how common of a problem that they are.

There are two ways to view hemorrhoids- chronic vs acute.

Chronic hemorrhoids are often linked to a family history of varicose veins. These are likely to be recurring, resistant to treatment and likely to require surgical intervention.

Acute hemorrhoids are what most patients get. They swell up. They itch. They bleed. Then they go away. In the All About Ass thread, there's some old threads with suggestions. My suggestion to you is to throw everything at it (hot soaks in the tub, creams, pads, fiber diet, etc) and see if it gets better. Be advised that it's not likely to "go away", instead it will just shrink and become less inflamed. If none of these methods make it better, then you should see your family doctor or a colorectal specialist.

Thanks for your replies guys. Went to doctors today and he advised it looks like 2 perianal hematomas, basically bleeds on the lining of the hole that were painful at the time, but now theyre just pea sized solid lumps that are blood clots. He said they're too small to do anything surgically, and that my body will break them down in time (I really hope so!). Told me to take hot baths to improve blood flow to the area and avoid straining etc. Apparently it could be several months until theyre gone.

Does anyone have experience of these? did they fully go if you did? Were you left with a skin tag? I want my pretty hole back!!!
