Duran Duran forthcoming x-rated video

Duran Duran are gearing up for the release of their new album Red Carpet Massacre, due out November 13.

The band have been making the rounds in Los Angeles this week, where they previewed the new album at a listening party on Tuesday (September 18.) and shot the video for the album's lead single "Falling Down," which was co-written and produced by Justin Timberlake.

Inspired by a photo shoot in a fashion magazine that depicted models in rehab, the band decided to use the timely theme for their video.

Working with director Anthony Mandler (50 Cent, The Killers, Beyonce), they shot both an X-rated version featuring topless models, and a less racy version, as they did for their 1981 hit single "Girls On Film."

The band spent the entire day shooting at an old hospital in downtown L.A. Original band members Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes, and Roger Taylor dressed sharply in white suits, portraying doctors. Several glamorous, scantily clad models portrayed girls in treatment.

"The concept of models in rehab has so much to do with what the song's about," frontman LeBon told NME.com

"It's very sad but there's a kind of beauty in it as well. The song is about arrogance and pride, as well as personal breakdowns and the hope for redemption and the resilience of the human spirit," he said.

LeBon said that the theme of the song subconsciously came from a severe motorcycle accident he had in 1992.

Once they used this line for promoting their 2000 realease "POP TRASH":

STYLE CHANGE. STYLE DOESN'T.

I think that's the answer to your question.

Duran Duran to take over Broadway!

In an unprecedented move, British superstars, Duran Duran, have today confirmed that they will play nine shows on Broadway over a two week period in celebration of the launch of their upcoming album, ‘RED CARPET MASSACRE’, which will be released November 13 on Epic Records.

Performing for over two hours a night on November 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 12 at the Barrymore Theatre on 47th Street and Broadway, band members Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor will take audiences in this historic thousand-capacity venue on a musical journey, presenting their new record in its entirety, as well as classics such as ‘Rio’, ‘Save A Prayer’, Hungry Like The Wolf’ and ‘Ordinary World’, with magnificent production values and a completely new stage show. These concerts will be the band’s first dates in support of their exciting new release, which they have worked on over the past year with Justin Timberlake and top producers Timbaland and Nate ‘Danja’ Hills.

So who's playing guitar now that Andy went home (again)?

It's the same old story coming all over again. Andy Taylor left the group because he didn't like the new musical direction Duran Duran took.

Dominic Brown is replacing Andy Taylor. He has worked with stars including Sir Elton John, Liam Gallagher and the Sugababes.

Re: Duran Duran to take over Broadway!

So, basically they're just renting the theatre to perform their show. Similar to what Bette Midler has done several times in the '70's and '80's.

Yeah, I couldn't picture Warren or Nile coming back. :)

Duran Duran pick Mark Ronson to produce next album

Duran Duran is eyeing collaborations with two of the hottest young names in British music, the Arctic Monkeys and Mark Ronson.

As details roll out for the European leg of the band's Red Carpet Massacre tour, word is out that Duran Duran will join forces with Amy Winehouse producer Ronson this summer on a music project.

Although details are vague, a spokesperson for Duran Duran says both parties are "definitely discussing working on some material together" and a "possible live collaboration."

Meanwhile, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders has contributed a remix of "Skin Divers," the second track lifted from "Red Carpet Massacre." Helders and Monkeys frontman Alex Turner are rumored to have supplied sampled vocals to the reworked track.

Although a street date has yet to be scheduled, the band's spokesman suggests the single and remix might get a special download-only release, perhaps via the iTunes Music Store.

The Arctic Monkeys have enshrined the '80s teenybopper favorites on each of their two albums by referencing Duran Duran lyrics.

"I think we're going to try doing that on every second song on every album," Turner told Billboard last year. At the time, however, he admitted, "The only songs of theirs I know are the ones I've referenced so far. Maybe I had a premonition of Simon LeBon entering a dream or something. I don't know much about them. It's weird where that came from."

Duran Duran has to stop worrying about who's producing their albums, and start working on writing some better material.

Their work with Timbaland was pretty good.

Wonder what Ronson will do with them.

Can't wait to hear it!!!!!

.

Never followed Duran Duran, but I checked out their latest album because of the production by Timbaland and DanjaHandz

"Skin Divers" is probably my favorite song on it,
I thought it was perfect as it is

^ Word. ^

They spent forever, it seemed, tweaking 'Red Carpet Massacre' only to have it fall flat on it's face. #-o

Even Justin and Timbaland couldn't save them.

Actually, I think Justin and Timbaland were the problem in "Red carpet massacre".

Duran Duran should have kept the musical direction they took on their previous album "Astronaut". R&B is definitely not their thing, even when they made a terrific R&B album, "Notorious", two decades ago. But then, it was Nile Rodgers the mastermind behind it.

Re: Duran Duran pick Mark Ronson to produce next a

If Justin & Timbaaland were truly the problem with Red Carpet Massacre, there'd be a bunch of good songs buried under several layers of glossy production, hiding their inherent strengnths. Instead, on RCM, all I hear is surface. There's no THERE there. That's not necessarily horrible - mindless fun is still fun - but they can do a lot better than that.

Maybe I didn't explain myself clear.

My point was that Duran Duran's music don't blend graciously with the sounds of Timbaland and Justin.

In no way I was critizicing their skills as music producers.
