So the only gay movie's I've watched were Shelter, East Side Story, Latter Days and Mambo Italiano.
My favorite ones are East Side Story and Latter Days.
What is your favorite gay movie and do you know any movies like East Side Story and Latter Days?

Beautiful Thing and Get Real - just like others have said.

Lilies - I really liked, it was beautiful and kind of sad.

The Eating Out trilogy - kind of crass and campy humor, probably need to be in a certain mood for it - I thought the third one was the best.

Angels in America.

TV mini-series but I consider it a film, and the best gay film I have ever seen.

Lost Coast
Soundless Wind Chimes (I strongly recommend watching this)
Shank
Food of Love (but only because the lead actor was attractive in a way)

i have yet to see a gay movie i thought was amazing. i dont know if american directors/actors are able to pull off the love and the sex without it looking like a really bad porno.

My faves are

Transamerica
Die mommy die
Billys hollywood screen kiss
The broken hearts club
Vegas in space
Grief

didn't even think of that one, it's probably the best... it's actually a movie-ized play, but the play is absolutely worth reading as well.

Yes, I bought a copy of the play and absolutely LOVE IT!! There are some absolutely stunning passages which were excised when it was adapted, one of which is a reflection by Louis:

"Mathilde stitched while William the Conqueror was off to war. She was capable of… more than loyalty. Devotion. She waited for him, she stitched for years. And if he had come back broken and defeated from war, she would have loved him even more. And if he had returned mutilated, ugly, full of infection and horror, she would still have loved him; fed by pity, by a sharing of pain, she would love him even more, and even more, and she would never, never have prayed to God, please let him die if he can’t return to me whole and healthy and able to live a normal life…. If he had died, she would have buried her heart with him."

Latter Days (self-acceptance/growing up romance), Get Real (coming of age romance), Beautiful Thing (coming of age romance), But I'm A Cheerleader! (lesbian themed, but with gay guys too), Adam & Steve (funny, light-hearted romance), Straight Jacket (funny romantic spoof set in the 50s)…

I’m sure there are more!

Straight Jacket had such potential - which was systematically and painfully destroyed by poor acting, poor script and TERRIBLE production values!!

For me it's

Maurice
The Ritz
Pricilla, Queen of the Desert
Beautiful Thing
Get Real
Gods and Monsters
Making Love
Red Dirt
Save Me
The Sum of Us

The Origial La Cage Aux Folle

Would love to find again 2 movies I saw years ago. They are
Dress Gray (1986) Made for TV
Tenue de Soiree - Formal Dress with Gerard Depardieu

Angels in America.

TV mini-series but I consider it a film, and the best gay film I have ever seen.

I've only seen part of an episode on LOGO, and it seemed really good.

Was that Andy from Weeds in it?
