"The Sprawl". Enough said.

I do agree that "Daydream Nation" was a very important album in many ways, however the two albums I listen to most are "Dirty" and "Washing Machine".

Yes! I remember them doing that song when I saw them live! It was fragile, then heavy, then meandering in between the two....didn't want it to end! :)

A free mixtape streaming is now available on their website. As the band points out, the new mixtape-- which, anachronistically enough, appears in a graphic that looks like an actual cassette tape-- includes tracks from their soundtrack to the French film Simon Werner a Disparu, as well as Daydream Nation-era demos and the acoustic version of "Star Power" that they played on the 2009 episode of "Gossip Girl" where Rufus and Lily got married.

To stream the mix, head to the Sonic Youth website and look for the icon that says "Sonic Youth Mixtape, Vol. 8".
