Still topical - just wondered what coming out/ gay romantic films were peoples favourites. No porn titles please, just romance. My 2 favourites are brokeback mountain and maurice. Please vote.

I love Shelter. A simple feel good romantic movie. IMHO

I have not seen any others. But I would like to check out some others too.

BTW, Hi trikky

For "coming out films?"

I've edited OtownDWB's post, because I've seen just about everyone that he's listed, I've highlighted my favorites from his list:

Here are a few of my favs...

-Beautiful Thing

-Latter Days

-Edge Of Seventeen

Those ^ three are really good "coming out" films.

I cried like Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting after watching Latter Days. !oops!

However when it comes to "Gay Cinema" most of the genre IMHO can be broken down into "coming out," "being out," or a sub-plot to another story line.

Maurice and Brokeback Mountain, are good examples of the latter.

Though to be honest Brokeback Mountain made me want to slash my wrists.

Another good movie that I haven't seen listed yet is The Broken Hearts Club.

1. Beautiful thing
2.CRAZY
3.Shelter
4.F. est un salaud
5.Get real

Oh I forgot My own private idaho. Not really a coming out film but river phoenix was just so hot in it.

Shelter

Latter Days, playing on LOGO today

Broken Hearts Club, my favorite

Definately A Beautiful Thing, saw a great one last night called Dreamboy, starts off a bit slow but turns into a great love story!
