Yesterday, I started getting this pop-up. It comes up every minute or so, only on pages with a lot of media, like Tumblr.

Any ideas how to stop this?

And why doesn't JUB let me type 'dot exe'?

It appears to be some kind of video converter. I'd guess that it's outdated, but still associated with certain video formats, hence your pop ups as it still tries to work.

Google leads me to believe that you can delete/uninstall it. You might have to reassociate some vid extensions with a player/viewer.

I uninstalled every program connected with ffmpeg, and I'm still getting this annoying pop-up like every minute on pages with media. Is it a virus?

ffmpeg is a helper application that helps different programs handle video processing and playback. For example, Firefox uses ffmpeg for decoding and standardizing videos and streaming content.

To fix the error, you usually have to figure out which application is using ffmpeg. You may have to deinstall and reinstall that application. It may also help to download a new version of ffmpeg from https://ffmpeg.org/download.html.

Thanks, KaraBulut!

Whatever program Firefox is using to play embedded videos seems to be the culprit.

Unfortunately Windows can't open the latest version of ffmpeg.

Do you have a Firefox add-on to download videos?

I think so.

It's definitely a Firefox problem, and only on pages that have embedded videos. Doesn't happen in Chrome

Thanks to all again!
