Hey, I'm a Firefox user, but over the past few days I've noticed that when I try to make a new thread here, quote someone, or just post when it's not a 'quick reply', I can't access the typing box. It's just a tan color and I can't type anything. At first I thought it was my computer, but I'm only able to type this now because I switched my browser to the IE tab.

As well, when I use Firefox, the 'Edit' button disappears on my previous posts, but on IE it's there.

Anyone know what's up?

I am using FireFox 1.0.7 and it is working now. I have issues with a firewall software I had installed.

I'm still not getting it to function for some reason. Did JUB update it's java system or something? Do I need to update?

Sorry to triple post, but I just wanted to post my solution. Apparently all it took was deleting my history. Can anyone explain why the browser becomes functional again after history has been cleared?

...and now it doesn't work again...I'm so confused. I've looked through Mozilla's site and searched the web and I can't find a solution. If anyone knows, please help.

he is NOT having problems with JAVA he is having problems with JAVASCRIPT. so re-installing java doesn't help.
i never experienced your problem .. so it can't be firefox in general.
but from the error message i see that you are using the WYSIWYG editor.
try enabling the standard editor under "misc options" here:

Well, thanks for all your help guys. Apparently I was using Firefox 1.0.7 (but I thought I had updated automatically). The problem disappeared after I installed 1.5

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, if you've not done that already. Also, updating the java software could be of help as well; find Sun's java here: http://java.sun.com/ .
It should look like this Kenny..
Sorry, I'm pretty clueless myself and cannot come up with anything else. Had some trouble with java/javascript some months ago, but got it working after furious reinstalling.
;) Voila!
