Just so we're all on the same page, has everyone noticed that the teacher is white?

I think he's just tired. A lot of older black people are, especially his generation to have come full circle back to the affirmation of racism out in the open after a sweet, sweet period of about 10-20 years where it was slightly less naked.

It sounds as if you're describing a black man here. He doesn't seem to be tired. An earlier version of the story contains this:

James said the school is in poor shape and he believes that it is treated as a lower priority because many of the students are Black children from low-income families [...] Currently, teachers are in demand everywhere, and James is not too worried about finding a new job.

"I'll be teaching somewhere in a month," he said. "I have excellent credentials."

It looks like he decided this school was a lost cause and having two busybodies from admin (who I'm guessing were younger and less experienced than him) telling him how to do his job was the last straw.

By the way, speaking of hangings ...

A Santa Rosa County School Board candidate running against a longtime incumbent in the August primary publicly proclaimed that doctors who prescribe hormone blockers to children transitioning between genders should be hanged.

This is what erasers are for. The FB post where I found this story stated him as af-american, which i erroneously believed-- in my defense there wasn't a pic in any of the articles I read. Still frustrating to see prominent black heroes erased from the curriculum, albeit not surprising in the "Don't Say Gay" censorship state. Not gonna hold my breath waiting for an intelligible explanation for the removal of these posters. Unless someone drew a dick on it what could conceivably be inappropriate about Harriet Tubman?

Honey I give your posts a cursory glance as a courtesy because you like attention. I already know how you feel about any situation involving racism. "So what?" Does that not some it up perfectly in two words? Anything longer than that is overwritten and unncessary, and that's coming from me. Thanks for participating though.
