What do you do?

My shoes were worn out on one corner of the heel. Since I walk, alot at work this leads to a callous in that area. I have a stone and brush that I use with Kerasal. I have tried that shing that looked like a cheese grater for dead skin and that seemed to do more harm than good.

Any suggestions?

How about buying new shoes?

I would have to know more, but I can say you shouldn't use the "grater" thing. Or razors. They only encourage the body to grow more callous. Try a foot file, used sparingly, but often. Don't go too far. Also, I agree about the shoes, maybe you should get a walking shoe from an athletic shoe store.

I used to do manicures and pedicures, and actually learned to like improving the look of someone's feet....

I actually use to vasaline my feet and put them in socks. I have also used baby oil. I use to get so many compliments on my feet when I did that. Now I use all that mint foot lotion. That also works. But if you can stand the feeling vasaline really did do wonders.Did I spell vasaline right? looks odd.anyway, after 3 days of doing it nightly your feet will be brand new.

I often use a foot file (well, actually it's a food "grater" made by Dr. Scholls, looks like a nutmeg grater) in the morning after my shower. The water in the shower would soak into the callouses and soften them up. Afterwards, I used mt body butter on it(Hemp Body Butter, by The Body Shop) and put my socks on. Feels odd for a few minutes, but after a while, it went away.

I noticed that after a couple of weeks of this, my feet were softer.

Try using some moisterizers several times a day followed by a self-massage of your feet using oil, like sesame or olive, etc. It will work well in conjunction with your stone and brush.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a minor question on foot care as well that I didn't feel like starting an individual thread about. I was wearing these old shoes for awhile where the back padding had worn through so the back of my heels were constantly rubbing up against this hard surface and were eventually rubbed raw and I had two large blisters on the back of my feet. I got new shoes, the blisters opened up, I was wearing black dress socks and some of the black lint from the socks got inside the wound and it's since scabbed over so that there is essentially a bit of lint under my skin on the back of one of my heels which causes a tiny discoloration (like a tattoo). It's not big or anything but I'm just wondering if I should be concerned about this, about there being lint embedded under my skin and whether or not I should somehow remove it on my own (enough scratching may due to trick as it hasn't been scabbed over that long, as gross as that may sound) or if it will eventually disintegrate and I just shouldn't worry. It's a bit of a stupid question which is why I didn't want to start up a whole thread about it.
