For guys that know more about Nintendo than I do, I have a question.. I am thinking about getting a DSi XL or the new Nintendo 2DS when it comes out in October, but not sure which is better. Ive never had a handheld gaming system and cant really see much difference as of right now. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

The DSi is just a reiteration of the nintendo DS which is their last generation of handheld. No new games will be released for this system and it will be unable to run any new game marked 3DS

The 2DS, however, is the latest version of the 3DS and will be able to run any game marked DS or 3DS, new games will be released for this system for a while still.

So basically if you want a system which will have a longer lifespan and a larger library of games go for a 2DS or the 3DS, or 3DS XL

thank you! 2DS it is. always looking for more games to play since WiiU doesn't have all that many yet. Really looking forward to 3D Mario World & DonkeyKong Country tho!

Is the Wii U worth it? Ever since I bought my Wii when it first came out I liked it a lot, but then noticed that most of the games made for it were directed towards party groups. Then I looked at all the single player games on PS3 which made me regret getting a Nintendo Wii. Every time I go through the Wii U section it seems to have a really small library of games, so much that at Gamestop Wii games no longer have their own section on the wall but a small little display like how they show their PC games.

Even with the 50 dollar price drop, is it really worth it or am I going to regret buying a Wii U as well?

Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, I bet you'll regret buying a WiiU. , I don't see the point in spending the $$$ until the library of games made especially for the WiiU gets bigger. Mine was a gift otherwise I wouldn't have it. Im so bored with mine that's why I want to get the new 2DS, just to have a lot of new games to play.

I don't really see the point of getting WiiU although I think it's a good platform for occasional fun or family events/ activities. (Although they do have occasional wacky games like the uber gay Japanese game - The Sacred Protein quest or smth where all the characters are muscular LOL!)

I want to get a 2Ds when Pokemon XY came out but I want a PS 4 too :(

My brother owns a WiiU.

It is collecting dust until Smash Bros comes out.

Looks like the 2DS won't be completely compatible with all games. Didn't on of the Zelda DS games require you to close the system to proceed in the game?

I think I recall that, yeah.

Also, I definitely don't regret my Wii U purchase. Pikmin 3 is great, and the Wind Waker remake looks awesome.

If you haven't already picked up a handheld, I'd recommend a 3DS or 3DS XL. The XL's are so comfy to hold, and being able to fold it away is great. I enjoyed the 3D in the Ocarina of Time remake and Professor Layton, though on other titles I often just turn it off completely.
