So I've had fordyce spots ever since I was a teenager (they are hair-follicle like bumps on the shaft).

I went to a doctor once and he said they are normal and no issue at all.

I still feel like shit about them though. I've only been with two guys and both either didn't notice or didn't seem care but I still don't like how they look.

It's making me awkward about being intimate with someone and my biggest fear is that someone will notice them and freak out.

The laser treatments are not an option as I'm not making much money at the moment.

How off-putting would they be to you? (I want honesty, not a pity party) and to those with a lot of experience have you ever seen them on someone?
 
I have them too and never felt self-conscious about them. I also never had an experience where any guy pointed them out or was freaked out by them. FS are common with guys. I'm more self-conscious about my hairy nuts. :) I don't think there is a permanent treatment for FS but found one treatment that I never heard of.
 
Fordyce is extremely common. So common, in fact, that it like freckles. If a guy is really interested in seeing you naked, he's not going to give a rat's ass about Fordyce spots on your penis.

If you do run into a guy who has a problem with your Fordyce spots, either:
  1. He hasn't seen a lot of penises or
  2. He's the freak
 
In my day I've seen thousands of dicks up close. Trust me, everyone has them to one degree or another. I would think something is weird if they didn't. Fordyce spots are normal and one of those things that makes every penis unique and interesting. I am certain that your penis is wonderful.
 
You are just being too conscious it's extremely common.
