Elton John came out as bisexual, then took it back and got married. He lied about it for a bunch more years, until his career was about where Ricky Martin's is now. Then he came out.

And he hasn't exactly been a great example for the gay community since then, either. He played with Eminem to help that homophobic POS "prove" he wasn't one. Does the phrase 'identification with the oppressor' mean anything to you?

Elton John is a pretty good musician, but as an example of courage in coming out he stinks out loud.
