Well - it's down to Soderling v Berdych in one semi. Nadal & Djokovic look most likely to dispute the other (tho' Almagro & Melzer might think differently ;)).

For the ladies Dementieva will meet Schiavone in one semi - the other side will see Serena v Sam Stosur in one & Jankovic v Schvedova in the other.

So - who will win?

I have to admit I am not convinced that Rafa is back to the dominance he once enjoyed on clay - but he would look to be the favourite for the mens.

Much as I would like to see Stosur overturn Serena, I don't think she will - I wonder if Dementieva (who probably ought to get past Schiavone) could?

Thoughts?

Hmmm...so Melzer took out Djokovic and Stosur disposed of Serena. Unexpected.

Go Sam!

I think Stosur is going to have a hard time with Jankovics style of play

I really like Schiavone.... but Dementieva definitely deserves another shot at a major, I don't want her to go down as the best player to never have won a slam. lol

And don't worry about Serena, she'll be ready to win her 13th major at Wimbledon ;)

Go Sam Stosur!

Swept past Jankovic into the final - and is favoured to beat Schiavone after Demetieva had to default. Somehow I don't think it is going to be quite that easy (but of course I hope it will ;)).

friggin Jankovic..... really crappy game plan

Hope Rafa and Fran win this weekend!!!!

Well Rafa advanced to the final fairly easily, while Soderling had a five set slog against Berdych. Could make a difference if the final is a tough match - but I think, good tho' Soderling has been, that Rafa will have enough to take it without too much difficulty.

For the women, Stosur needs to keep her confidence up and keep her serve working well. If that happens, the rest of her game follows. Schiavone, in the past, has often let her emotions play her game for her - but she has surprised with her consistency here.

First Italian women to win a grand slam! Go Fran!!!!

Watching Nadal in the finals wearing my jock.
