Is anyone going to university in the next couple of weeks?

I am wondering what freshers is like etc...i am bricking it !oops!

Daunting, hectic, confused and exciting. Then when it's over, and work begins, you'll be thinking so this is uni. Then you discover all night drinking and partying. Then you'll be thinking, god, forgot to do my homework.

Freshers week is the best! I'm currently doing a four year degree and I'm starting my third year in Sept. The only advise I could give at university is to be careful with your student loan (if you're getting one)...people may say 'Oh go and spend it, thats what its there for' but don't listen!

Only use it if you need it because you don't want to graduate with £15,000 worth of debt. I'm quite lucky and don't need a loan because I stayed at home and have a good job as well but anyways...be careful!.

Everything else about Uni is fantastic...it'll be the best three/four/five years of your life!

Good luck buddy!

My loan is pretty rubbish. It only really covers my course and accomadation. Because my parents are sort of well off etc.

I feel alright now. Cheers everyone :D

Yeah, thats good advice. I start my first year tomorrow. The Ontario goverment is giving me $5000 more than I need of student loans, which are interest free until 6 months after I graduate. So I'm going to take the $5000, stick it in a high interest savings account and make some money. I should make $250 this year from the extra money.

First year Orientation is amazing as long as you make the effort to participate in it :D

I go to Laurier and we have one of the most intense Orientation Weeks in the country- Over 500 senior students volunteer to make sure that you have the best week of your life.

Brijan's right- everyone's in the same boat, so just go with it and have fun. :D

Sweet! I'm not the only guy on this forum who goes/is going to Laurier. I move in tomorrow!

Fortunately, I was there at uni. two weeks before everyone else because of extra curricular activities so i was one of few Freshmen that knew that place once Freshmen orientation began. I got to show the rest of the hot Freshmen boys around! It was nice! :D
