Since no story is going up tonight, here is a list of not quite random facts about the stories. Feel free to add some questions to further the list.
1. The town of Wallington, where Cade and Donovan live, shares a western border with Rossford, Indiana.
2. The proper time order of the stories (regardless of win they were written and or published) is The Geshichte Fall Stories late 90’s. Hidden Lives of Virgins, ending in 2002, Colossus of Rhodes, beginning the year after Hidden Lives, Jay and Michael in high school around 2005. The Houses in Rossford, roughly 1998, The Ends of Rossford, roughly now. Cade and Donovan, Frey and Rob, Roughly now. The Vampires and Strausses roughly now. So, though Russell is fifteen and Marabeth is forty, they are in fact about the same age and if Vaughan and Ian or Mackenzie appeared in Rossford, they would so as men in their mid to late thirties.
3. The border between Rossford and Wallington is the oft referred to Strip, where Dylan conducted his affair with Rick Ferguson and where Sheridan began his affair with Logan. The Strip is also where Will and Layla got back together. Due to the proliferation of motels along with restaurants and shopping places, the Strip is a famous spot of Rossford sexcapades.
4. Donovan Shorter is the first cousin of Isaiah Frey as revealed in Warm Dark Stone.
5. Ida O’Muil of The Hidden Lives of Virgins is the first cousin of Pierce O’Muil, the father of Jinny and Anne O’Muil, thus making Jinny Aileen’s second cousin and Jinny and Anne the second cousins once removed of Tina, Roy, and Mackenzie and co.
6. Catherine Laujinesse and Maureen O’Muil have the maiden name Brennan, but this is not their mother’s maiden name. This links them to another character, but that link has not yet been revealed.*
7. Drew Marsh and Simon Pendergast attend Willoughbv high school in the very wide and sprawled northern Ohio city of Lassador, the home to all the Strausses, several characters in the Blood Saga and Jay and Michael of the Jay and Michael stories.
8. Jay Strickland and Michael Cleveland both attended Saint Ignatius Men’c College Preparatory High School, the same school attended by Kris Strauss, Myron Keller and Dan Rawlinson.
9. Isaac Weaver is Michael Cleveland’s second cousin.
10. Cedric Fitzgerald and his wife Marilyn attended and met at St Clare’s college, the same school which Jinny, Anne, Isaac, Cecile and Efrem would attend thirty years later.
11. Lula du Fresne, the granddaughter of the witch Marie Madeleine in Hidden Lives, is herself the grandmother of Fenn and the head of the Houghton clan. So it is not accident that Caroline duFresne and Laurel both have uncanny abilities.
12. The town of Ashby, Indiana where Frey and Rob live was originally called Fort Ashby and named for Christopher Ashby, Lewis Dunharrow’s lover who, we must remember, is nearly four hundred years old and did many things he just barely discusses in the books.*
13. Sainte Terre, the school Cedric rejected and Ralph attended is also the school Dan Malloy attended and was later ordained from.
14. The judge that Simon recommends to marry Cade and Donovan is a lead character from Rossford, but as this judge never comes into the story, I have not named him.*
15. Kenny, Layla and Logan are at the monastery along with Rob and Frey at the end of Eden, but their names were changed because this story takes place after the last Rossford book and it would have given too much away.
16. Cecile Turner makes a brief appearance in The City of Rossford as a classmate of Layla’s, and Cecile and Layla are, in fact, good friends.
