i had to study this a little in my physiology classes. male cum is actually mildly basic, so that it can neutralize the mildly acidic environment in the vagina and cervix (and female cum...yes, they have it too) and protect the sperm. male cum also contains fructose - a kind of sugar (5 membered carbon ring) as compared to glucose sugar that has a 6 membered carbon ring. this sugar provides and energy store for the sperm cell's flagella. there are also coagulants that keep it in a sticky mass so it stays inside. there are also other biochemicals that will act as anticoagulants 20 min into ejaculation, so that the sperm can leave the mass. im unsure if that has any effect on the pH.
