This weekend I had my first gay bar experience. Being 30 and in the closet until recently (am still for the most part), I've really had no experience with going to clubs or bars with the intent to meet someone for more than friends. I do have experience meeting guys online, but never in person.

I got chatting up a guy, let's call him D who was at the club with his friend R. D and I ended up kissing a bit on the patio, initiated by D - I was ecstatic! But also drunk. I ended up leaving with R and D, and their straight friend. Went to drop her off but her friend wasn't home. Ended up dropping me off because R said D was staying at his house. R was kind of annoying me as I felt he was trying to get in the way - would have liked to grab a bite with D and chat. When I got dropped off, D gave me his number.

Sunday we sent through some texts back and forth but I was very hung over and not really in the mood to text.

I feel like a teenager - I'm not very experienced so I don't know what to do. Was it ok to kiss a guy I just met at the club? What do I do next? Should I ask him out? I'm so bad at this :(

:) I remember this stage... kid in a candy store, but fumbling around like you're blind folded wildly swinging hoping to hit that elusive pinyata. Every look, touch, smile, hug, compliment, kiss... tormenting teases to the hormones wondering if they meant something more.

Relax, and try to not seem so desperate. Ask him to hang out. If he says no, go try again with someone else.

Jesus if getting drunk and macking on random guys is bars is wrong, I don't WANNA BE RIGHT!!!

Oh and you got cock blocked, the other guy wanted "let's call him D," and the hag just wanted everyone to go home alone. If SHE can't have those faggots, NO ONE CAN!!!

Wait till you have your first crowded, sweaty, packed dance floor, UNDERWEAR NIGHT experience.

If you like him, ask him out. Lunch or Dinner would be appropriate so you guys can talk and get to know him. It might also be good to understand what you might want out of this (sex, dating, relationship, just a friend) so that you can clearly communicate that and not waste either of your time. Don't beat around the bush or play coy or act like a teenager if you actually like him. You are 30, so you should be past giving that treatment out or accepting it from others.

Take risks, make moves, and if it doesn't work out, move on.

Thanks for the advice guys. I needed to hear that. Tonight I texted him and we had a back and forth conversation. I made sure to bring up things about him I remember him telling me, and he seemed impressed. I'll text him tomorrow to ask him out.

Great to hear! :gogirl: But if you want to make a real move, call him and ask him to dinner Friday night! Or to a local football game, or happy hour, or whatever...Go on a date! Propose a time and a place so he knows you mean business
