getting an std from barebacking an std neg. person

yes fecial matter can be harmful to you. as far as getting an std from a negative person from barebacking......the question speaks for itself meaning you can't get something if its not there. the best answer i can honestly give you is don't bareback, its just better to keep it safe then sorry.

Well Mr 43 (scooter) this is a no flame zone ..... so you may want to choose your words more carefully.

No you cant catch an STD from a person who has tested negative...

BUT

Not all tests are 100% accurate - they may have an STD but have tested negative (you may want to reasearch "window periods" and "sensitivity & specificity of medical tests")

Not everyone who says they have been tested is telling the truth.

And yes faecal matter can cause a urinary tract infection to the top who barebacks.

Just a reminder as me4you says, this is a no flame zone.

And as me4you says, you can't catch an STD from somebody who doesn't have one. You can get a UTI from fecal matter but it tends to be rare in males b/c the urethra is long so the bacteria have a long way to travel. The best way to help avoid this is to urinate after topping to wash any bacteria out.

Jockboy - congrats on passing 2500! Always appreciate your insightful, measured commentary

Good advice guys and very knowledgable... may I add, although condoms are not 100% effective in STD transmittence, it is just plain safe practice to reduce the chances by using them. Everyones policy should be " no glove, no shove".

Re: getting an std from barebacking an std neg. pe

Glad I found this post, I was gonna write one.

I'm a "newly" bi in a relationship with a married man... I was new to it until him and we started fucking always with a condom.

Last tuesday he fucked me (condomed) and afterwards i fucked him (condomed) but since we're both vers and dont fuck that much he said he couldnt take it anymore so I slipped out and just played with my cock around his ass pressing until the horniness caught him and he managed to get me inside him and it was just beyond amazing.

one, for the feeling
two, for all the "trust" thing (we're "monogamous" bar his wife, but they dont fuck that much)
three, because when we were done he said it hurt less than with a condom, it slipped better

so, saving all the "always a condom for stds"... apart from that, the only risk is bacteria right?

We preach condoms for HIV prevention but there's other good reasons to wear them.

Researchers are finding that there are more bacteria cells in the GI tract than there are cells in the human body- by something like a factor of 10. Those bacteria help with digestion while they are in the GI tract but they can cause a lot of problems when they get into places like the urethrea, bladder and kidney (urinary tract infections or UTIs). We used to see a lot of urethritis and bladder infections in gay men before the AIDS epidemic and now that barebacking has become a fad, we're seeing those infections in increasing numbers again.

The risk of UTI in the top is a good reason to wear a condom.

One thing that gets overlooked in these discussions is human papilloma viruses (HPV). We're finding out a lot of new information about these viruses and their relationship with oral and anal cancers. There are many different strains of HPV that infect the genitals, the mouth and the anus and it is not possible to determine if your partner is a carrier in many cases. Condoms are not 100% effective against HPV but they will help reduce risk of transmission in the event that one of the partners is an HPV carrier.

There's not a perfect answer in these cases where there's a monogamous relationship. Some people do feel that condoms aren't necessary when both partners have been tested and there's an assumption of monogamy or exclusivity. But given the choice of taking 10 seconds to slip on a condom or spending a lifetime taking antiviral meds, a condom seems a more rational choice.

On a side note, a penis without a condom and a penis with a condom shouldn't make a difference in feeling for the bottom. What lube are you using, what type of condom (i.e. are using using a ribbed condom?) and what prep are you doing to get your partner prepared?

Re: getting an std from barebacking an std neg. pe

There are a lot of HIV+ guys who thought they were in a monogamous relationship and trusted their partner. Maybe your relationship is different, but he's already cheating on his wife and with his wife (and who knows what she's up to and with whom), so what makes you think you're safe?

Re: getting an std from barebacking an std neg. pe

whats a 'no flam' zone?

like really, im turning into one of those adults thats not up to speed on anything.

If you go back to this page and read the descriptions of the forums under the heading of In Depth Discussion, you'll see that those forums are designated as "no flame zone".

This means that- just like your mom had you wipe your shoes before you came in the house- posters have to go to Hot Topics to vent all of their misery and bitterness and venom and sarcasm before coming into the No Flame Zone. *%%*

It means be polite, respectful, and helpful. These forums are for discussions of serious/personal issues, and should be treated accordingly.

People can disagree respectfully, but fighting/attacking/patronizing/etc is not allowed.

In all seriousness, the intent of these forums is to give you multiple viewpoints and multiple opinions.

In some forums, there is a lot of back and forth between posters- a debate. In these "no flame" forums, there are no stupid questions and there should never be personal attacks against those who post an earnest response.

With that said...

This sounds a lot like the same argument that people use about why they don't want to wear seatbelts. These things are a matter of choice however you won't be around to see your family and friends crying at your funeral and wondering "Why?".

Like I said be careful with who u BB with, make sure u know them well, and go get tested with them. Plus HIV isnt a death sentance buddy. You culd live ur whole life without it even turning into aids...plus who knows...anyone smell a government conspiracy? Is HIV real or made up by the government to destroy and give a bad name to the gay community? hmm.....

Have you ever spoken to a real person who is HIV+? Not everyone was promiscuous and many thought they knew their partners well.

Your conspiracy comment is a bit over the top, don't you think?

@Karabulutt
Thanks for the extensive answer, I'm guessing you've been posting it everywhere? haha. Healthwise, for the bottom, whats with sperm? Any risks for my man if I was to cum in him? I've never done it, we had a promise of never barebacking but we started giving it a thought or two. Anyway cut to the chase, sperm in the ass? Risks for the bottom?

About prepping and stuff like that, we dont really prep, when we get horniness outcomes us when forplaying, we just rim each other or finger with saliva. And a slow penetration goes in.
This is because we're not bottoms like I previously said, so sometimes its just kind of FUCK ME NOW IM BOTTOM-HORNY. When we kind of have a fuck preset, we forplay a bit in bed then go to shower and clean eachother with soap and finger, then a bit rimming and then condom in the shower or we take it back to bed.

We probably get the most regular condoms (sico whatever sensitive, or regular trojans, NEVER ribbed, tried them once and wasnt good).

We've BEN MEANING to carry out an "investigation" regarding lubes, since we've heard that a great lube is an AMAZING lube. Again, we sometimes stop on any store and get some generic or ky lube, we even get lubes for ladies.

We don't know if its better if its oily, aqueous or any other, and I KNOW I KNOW this prolly takes us 10 minutes to discover on the web. :S

@3Nipples
We've had that chat, I cheat him with a girl, he cheats me with his wife, he and I cheat our women with ourselves. There's no real answer to this, trust here is almost invalid, I can only say I trust him without questions (after being paranoid once a month everytime) I can continue elaborating my point of view but its pretty pointless.

Luka- you're 21. I've been working with people with HIV since the disease was called GRID back in the early 80s. That was before you were born.

In those days there was no HIV test. It was not uncommon to have dinner with someone who seemed healthy and then be attending their funeral the next week. Because of this, those of us who have been around for a while understand that the idea that "knowing someone" means that you can determine whether they have an HIV infection is just a load of horseshit.

If you believe that a few minutes of having a dick up your ass is worth the months and years of medications, infections and complications from a disease that is preventable... then as 3nipples commented, you need to meet some people with HIV and find out what life with HIV is like.

Cum/semen is just a body fluid like any other. There's nothing particular risky about semen compared to any other body fluid. The important thing is that exchanging any body fliud is risky. You can contract hepatitis and several other diseases from exchanging body fluids if the top is a carrier.

Well, there's prepping that you do all the time before you get fucked and there's prepping you do when you're learning to bottom.

If bottoming is something you want to continue doing, then think of your ass like you would any muscle in your body- it needs to be trained in order for you to learn to relax and enjoy anal sex. This can be done by yourself or with your guy and it involves playing with your fingers and using toys to learn to relax and enjoy the sensation of having something in your ass during sex. Taking the time to train your ass muscle when you're learning to bottom does make a big difference. By training your ass to relax, you'll be able to take your partner's dick without pain or that stretching/burning sensation that happens when you're not relaxed.

Prepping can be incorporated into foreplay. However, if the two of you are having to sneak around or find yourselves that "Put it in, now!" hurry, then you can quickly use lube and a finger to prep during foreplay. Having a lubed finger in your ass during a blowjob is never bad a thing and it gets your ass ready for other things to come. The key is that if you have already trained your ass to relax, it will happen quickly and easily when your partner puts his dick in your ass.

Ribbed condoms are made for straight sex. Most guys don't enjoy them with anal. They're just too abrasive. Most of the time, a standard latex condom like Trojan is fine. No need to buy the pre-lubricated condoms- they don't have enough lube to work well with anal.

You can order lube sampler packs on the web. Trying different lubes by yourself or with your partner is part of the fun. Generally, you want to avoid oil-based lubes since they don't work with condoms. There are some threads in the forums about different lubes that people like. It's really a matter of personal preference but if you're just getting started with anal, you probably want to use a thicker lube. If you're new to anal, find a lube you like and buy the big bottle because you want to use a lot of lube.
