...As they say in the movies, "There's no place like home!" While I enjoyed my visit with my family, I realize my home isn't in Tulsa, but rather here in Liberal.
While I love and miss my family, I don't miss the bickering. My grandmother's rush to the ER and her hospital stay (and surgery) brought out the worst in my mom and aunt. I did everything in my power to avoid getting into the arguments with them. Just glad to hear that she gets to go home tomorrow (7/24), provided the home care assistant is able to start.
I will admit the shopping was much better in Tulsa than here in Liberal. My traveling companions managed to get me to buy over $300 worth of new clothes. I never buy clothes, but they convinced me to get them. I also bought roughly $1000 worth of materials for my classroom -yes, I spent roughly one thousand dollars of my own money on classroom supplies.
The Advanced Placement Summer Institute was great. I learned a lot, and found out some important things. Texas Instruments is about to launch a brand new calculator, the n-spire, that can do some incredible things. We got to play with them. Also found out how to get free calculators for my room -on a two week loan (it's a start). My theme for the year is gonna be movement. We're gonna do alot with styrofoam airplances... my kids are gonna love it!
The new textbooks are also gonna help improve things. I feel really excited -and positive, about the coming year.
I just about have teh new doghouse finished. (My mom bought Mo a log cabin inspired doghouse). I just need to waterproof the roof and it's good to go. I'll post pictures in a few days, once I'm finished with this weeks' trainings.
