Wow Whatevs, I would just like to bow down to you because that post with all of the links must have taken FOREVER. :=D: :=D: :=D:

I've wanted to see "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Running With Scissors" as well. I hope to do so before the GGs happen.

Anywho, I hope Grey's Anatomy, Weeds, and Heroes wins everything they can :D

I'd love to see Marcia Cross FINALLY win something but the show hasn't really been focused on her this season. I think it'll finally be Felicity Huffman--she deserves it.

The Bobby nom is a fluke. Seriously...there were better movies this year. They just did it to get all those cast members there.

'Bobby' over 'United 93'!?! Whatever. Even 'Flags of Our Fathers' was better than 'Bobby'.

There is a serious problem in the nomination for Best Actress In A Drama - Motion Pictures

Dame Judy Dench

Dame Helen Mirren

They will cancel each other out - and this going to happen in the Academy Awards.

I can only judge the performances of Dame Mirren in The Queen and Prime Suspect - The Final Act 7

Being as objective as i can, and a devout follower of Dami Judi Dench and having seen her perform on state in England - twice. The Winter's Tale and Romeo and Julliet - both at Statford on Avon with the Royal Shakespear Co.

I strongly feel that of the two performers, Dame Helen Mirren by a slight degree, out performs Dame Dench. Dame Mirren has a way of disappearing totally into her character.

Dame Helen Mirren should win For Best Actress in a Motion Picture Performance
The Queen

Dame Helen Mirren should win For Best Actress in a Television Performance
Prime Suspect -The Final Act 7

I think that Dame Dench lacks the extreme depth of that ability/skill in her performances that i have seen. On stage and or on the screen.

Dame Mirren, sadly enough, I have never seen perform on the stage.

Any further discussion, not involving Dame Helen Mirren and or Dame Judi Dench, is of little or no value.

I have not seen the film yet, but based upon a Preview, why is Edward Norton not nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for The Painted Veil?

Absolut, it was just a matter of copying and pasting the exact page from imdb.com. I knew it wouldn't copy the pictures, but I didn't know it would actually copy the links. But lets just keep that between you and me ;)

Anyway, I hope Heroes wins at least something. I also hear Maggie Gyllenhaal was great in Sherrybaby. I really wanted to see that.

Oh. !oops!

But thanks anyway for making the list, now I know right where to go when I need it ..|

And I agree, I hope Heroes wins something! I don't care if its the best assistant 2nd grip who didn't do shit, it deserves an award.

I don't think Bobby and The Queen will make the Best Picture shortlist at the Oscars.

I'd rather see Flags of Our Fathers and United 93 up there. That would be a better line-up.

And how have shows like Heroes been nominated, when they've only broadcast half a season???

I haven't seen everything, but judging by the buzz I'll try to guess which films and what actors and directors will win.

Best Picture Drama- The Departed or Babel
Best Picture Comedy/Musical- Dreamgirls or Little Miss Sunshine

Best Actor Drama- Leonardo DiCaprio
Best Actress Drama- Helen Mirren or Penelope Cruz

Best Actor Comedy/Musical- Sacha Baron Cohen or Johnny Depp
Best Actress Comedy/Musical- Meryl Streep or Annete Bening

Best Supporting Actor- Mark Wahlberg or Jack Nicholson
Best Supporting Actress- way too hard to tell. should be interesting.

I've seen Babel and it is an impressive technical acheivement with great acting however I was not emotionally connected to any of the characters in a deep way. Other than that it was an outstanding film

Very genuine THANKS to Yeah,Whatever for this thorough listing - used the references ad infinitum to check stuff. (*8*)

I've seen "The Departed" (very good)

"Bobby" (fair)

and I'm going to see "Blood Diamond" Wednesday.

"Babel" only came to a theater 50 miles from where I live. I'm not driving 50 miles to see a film. I'll get the dvd when it's released because my main man Gael Garia Bernal is in it.

I'd love to see "The Queen" (stop snickering) but it was in such a limited release, that'll be a rental when it's available.

"Borat" looks like something that is beneath even MTV. Unless it wins best comedy, I'll be skipping it.

You should see Borat, it was fucking HILARIOUS! Don't bring kids though...seriously don't bring kids. Hahaha

Why do they nominate Leo twice for Best Actor in two different movies and Clint twice for Best Director of two different movies?

Doesn't that guarantee that neither man will win in their respective categories?

Another interesting double is Mirren, and both are for the portrayal as the Queen. Maybe she can pull it off by winning both.

I thought the cutest one here to be nominated is Emily for The Devil Wears Prada. I think she may not have that good shot to win, but still, I like the fact that GG recognises her acting. ;)

Anybody watching? It just started over here on the West Coast.

I was pretty confident that Jennifer Hudson would win Suppoting Actress.
