Okay, before everyone rips me a new one for being so compulsive, I'll readily admit that I'm OCD BUT ...

The couple who live across the street never rake their fucking leaves and it is really starting to grate on my nerves! I live in a very modest neighborhood and most everyone is 'house proud' by keeping things neat and tidy. Not them. I have one deciduous tree and that shed its leaves long ago, yet I continue to rake and rake and rake because the prevailing winds blow their distinctive pin oak leaves into my yard. :grrr: What really chaps my lily-white ass is the fact that I know they see me out there raking. They're not approachable (never wave or talk to anyone), not friendly (on Halloween, they turn their lights out so they don't have to give out candy - how's that for being neighborly!) and short of me getting therapy or throwing the leaves back into their yard, what would you do?

i honestly would never have noticed them in the first place

can't you talk to them or send a note?

Buddy, I hear ya but I don't think there's anything you can do. If the leaves fall on your lawn you pretty much have to deal with it. Now then, if their lawn is full of weeds in the summer you can probably call your city's bylaw control office and report the bastards

I would just keep cleaning them up myself (or hire someone to do it for me) and try not let it get to me. I'm not into confrontations. Thankfully, I have not had any problems with my neighbors.

I agree with Brian. Try calling Code Enforcement. It's usually the law you have to rake up your leaves so they don't plug up the storm drains.

I only see two courses of action here:

1. "Grow a pair" and tell the neighbor about the leaves or

2. Continue raking the leaves and keep your mouth shut!

I don't think you want to continue doing #2 do you?

Short of starting a neighorhood war, what can the idiot do to you?

Hey, I didn't know you lived across the street from me.

Most of my front yard isn't grass, so I just let the leaves collect in the bushes.

That's now nature works. :p

I've always lived with the notion that the best neighbor is a good fence. If thats not your cup of tea, you need to go talk to them. My mom always told me the best way to get under someone's skin is to be as nice as possible to them.
