Google is Giving Out My Search History - HELP!

I was searching for Gaddafi pictures on my iPhone. I then went to search for Gaddafi articles to post in the political forum. Well, as I was typing in "Gaddafi" I saw the previous searches that I did on my iPhone. I'm wondering how to stop people on my WiFi from seeing what I'm searching?

Wow great question. I thought that was just on your own Iphone, not for public circulation.

Your iPhone, presumably, is automatically logging into your Google account when you do searches on Google.

Your desktop does the same thing. So, Google knows that it's you, even though they are completely different computers connecting from different locations over different networks.

Unless other people are using your iPhone or your desktop account login, they should not be able to see your search history. You are correct that your search history is broadcast over wifi when you are connected to Google over a wifi connection, but so is everything else you do. So, just make sure your wifi connection is encrypted.

Google has a search history function working if you're logged in. Check your dashboard to switch it off.

Anyone sniffing your packets will be able to see your plain-text queries.

An encrypted tunnel will prevent this.

It's creepy what Google remembers. I've been shocked by what comes up when I type anything into Google. Very Big-Brotherish.
