Quite entertaining, not least because of the good-looking guy defending the former Soviet leader:

I'd love to see them try an American version with the redhats vs. the libtards.

It would end with the restaurant in flames.

Excuse me Mr. President. You have a little schmutz on your face.

That's not funny Vannie! [-X

I'm guessing Pizza Hut has pulled out of Russia now.

According to Russian media outlet Kommersant, via Reuters, Yum! has sold all Russian Pizza Hut locations to a local proprietor called Noi-M for 300 million rubles (equivalent to $4.92 million). The new owner is reportedly actively working to rebrand the franchise.

I lost about 10K on Yum brands in NA.

I imagine though that YUM is one of the comapnies that 'sold' their business with a buy back clause and that in the meantime time, will be branded "Is potato on flatbread. That's it".

It's a fitting tribute, since Gorbachev enabled the shift to consumer goods that had been THE common thread among Russians who were progressive or conservative.

It's hard to comprehend in the West just HOW starved Soviet citizens were for convenience items, for modern, for consumer goods.

Gorbachev is and was heavily attacked in Russia for the ensuing decline in status and power of Russia, but he deserves to also get credit for the rise in standard of living. And the carping about a Soviet leader being undignified in a commercial is a non-issue. It's not like he took off his shoe and beat on a lecturn or anything.

That nice Mr Gorbachev also did an interview on a UK chat show hosted by Clive Anderson.

Starts with a two-minute warm-up.

Just don't think of him as a hero.

His best quality was that he was so weak that he couldn't hold the crumbling Soviet empire together but he sent tanks into the Baltics to crush their 'rebellion' and was an unrepentant, revanchist, imperialist who supported the illegal seizure of Ukraine.

Fuck his noise.
