So my nephew (technically not my nephew but we have that relationship, kinda like brothers, but anyways) will be graduating from high school and he is putting together the grad slideshow.

He is computer challenged so I opted to help him and we finished. Only thing we need to do left is to have music playing for it.

Anyone have ideas for great songs that would make people sad about their graduation, or excited even?

Obviously Graduation by Vitamin C seems to be the perfect choice, but thats too typical.

There is a great song from 10,000 Maniacs called These Are Days off of their Our Time In Eden album. Give it a shot and pay attention to the lyrics. I think they might lend themselves well to your subject/project. :)

I remember this song came out when I was in the fifth grade back in '99. It's called "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrmann off of the album Something For Everybody. It's a great song and very graduation appropriate.

Johnny Gill & Stacy Lattisaw - Where Do We Go From Here

its one of the few great things i remember back in high school

Lostprophets - Last Summer. More rock music, but quite emotional, and the music vid is all about graduation.

its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday - boyz II men
i could not ask for more - edwin mccain

My graduation song (2006) was Here's To The Night by Eve 6. However, this song is about a one-night-stand, and I thought it was inappropriate.

Other ideas:
Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield
No Such Thing - John Mayer

Good luck!
