Grindr profile reactions

I wrote in my last blog that I made a second grindr profile on my tablet just to see what people would message or notice how I looked like when I'm clean-shaven, not as tan with a more innocent smile. I didn't write anything in my profile and got a lot more messages than my scruffy looking profile.

I also got strange messages that I mentioned earlier about being seen in places I've never been and cursed at for not replying to messages. This week was even stranger. A few days ago, someone asked if I was a masseur/call boy. I got a message like that before but never replied. This time I replied and said no and asked why he asked. He said he always asks handsome guys with their faces in their profiles if they're masseurs. I felt both flattered and cheap at the same time.

Then yesterday, a guy accused me of being fake. I didn't clearly understand the message since it was in Pilipino but I could understand most of it. It wasn't even a question, it was an accusation. So I replied back to him that I wasn't fluent in Tagalog and could he fully translate what he said. I also told him that we could meet in person so he could tell me what he wrote.

He replied but never fully translated what he wrote. He just said he thinks someone is using my picture because he's seen it before and he was just speaking his mind. He asked me a bunch of other questions and seemed rather defensive. He said it was probably because I was handsome that people are using my picture.

I have to say that I'm really surprised at the various reactions to a very mediocre picture that my mom took of me at a hotel when we went to Boracay beach together. I really thought I'd get more reactions from my first grindr profile where I'm tanned and scruffy. But I guess Filipinos have very different reactions to what I thought they would at different pictures.

You certainly run an interesting life. I'm slightly envious.

Thanks for the comment. I feel more like a train wreck though lately.
