Grindr sold users’ location data for years

Yesterday in the news there were stories about how Grindr sold users exact location data for years to advertisers. To be fair they did stop the practice a couple of years ago.

By tracking where you are at all times they could watch patterns and figure out where your home was - where your work was - what bars / clubs you enjoy or if you were using Grindr for hook ups they could see 2 (or more!) users at a specific location and know who you were hooking up with!

*technically you either can or will soon be able to opt out of sharing personal info. you just need the link for every site where that info is available and maybe they'll remove it, you'll just have to keep checking for all eternity cuz they might not notify if/when action has been taken. so in a very circuitous way they're trying to protect our info!
