Everything you describe about him sounds gay. Straight guys don't have girls that are best friends. And, yes, some gay guys love sports. (Count me out, however--other than stereotypically gay sports like swimming, biking, volleyball, and soccer. Not sure why that is.)

Well going by own opinion and perception about gay guys thus far, I would say that I don't think that many gay guys are INTO into sports. Now I'm bi, and I'm absolutely obsessed with sports....football, baseball, basketball....anything. ESPN is the first thing I check when I get in for the day, and I feel like the day was not complete if I don't at least check it for scores or stats. Now thats just me, I don't know about anybody else. I mean just look at the Sports section of the forum, you'll see that there aren't many posts or discussions, but then again, when going against Amatuer Showcase, Hot Men, and stuff like that, who's going to choose Sports forum? So thats just my take on it all....I may be wrong. It'd be pretty sweet if I was, I'd love to talk sports with someone sometime...

Gay jocks? Sure, there's some out there. Bi jocks? You better believe it. NBA player John Amaechi is gay.

There's all kinds of gay guys out there, the gay community is as diverse as any other community.

From what you described of this guy I would guess he is gay or at least bi. Get to know him a bit more. Talk sports with him; the conversation might turn to hot basketball players. Who knows. If he's straight you made a friend, maybe one of his guy friends is gay or bi. You never know.;)

(Oops. This was composed before erobert's reply showed up. I'm not talking about him. He gave a great reply.)

This thread is funny.

You know, guys, there's a difference between "most gay guys aren't into sports" and "no gay guys are ever into sports". It's ludicrous to think that no gay guys are ever into sports. Sure, some are. In a big way. Some pro players have come out of the closet (after retirement). If that's not into sports, I don't know what is.

So there's no reason your buddy couldn't be gay.

That's the problem with stereotypes: you take a tendency and blow it up into an absolute. And that's wrong.

I went to a bar to watch Monday Night Football with a bunch of straight people yesterday. I have season tickets to a contact sport. And me like-y the dick-y.

Are you out to this guy?

Lex

I consider myself into sports...when it comes to playing. I'll play pretty much anything, and love more indie sports like climbing, ultimate frisbee, and yoga (is that a sport? lol)....i'll play soccer, and volleyball, and golf, and tennis.

I have a couple of gay friends...actually, they are a couple...who are hockey players, they met in highschool when their schools played eachother...i have a male friend who was a big jock (hockey, football etc.) and gym coach/kinesiology major who is a BIG NELLY BOTTOM, though most people wouldn't just guess that.

so yes, gays play sports.

and lord i'm REALLY hoping that this hot boy in my yoga class, who i know is a big hockey jock (plays on some american university league or something) is gay.

Like whether it's 1 on 1 or 7 on 7 basketball match, he'll always shine.

ugh im never gonna find gay guys that are into sports huh lol.

isint part of the pride of being gay (at least openly) is to celebrate diversity and breaking down perceptions? there's no reason to think that somehow being gay and gifted in mainstream sports isint a mix.

now i dont know how to approach the person your talking about and getting the info you want...lol...but nothing is impossible...people tend to forget that.
