Interscope has finally confirmed that Gwen Stefani is indeed releasing a new album this year and they reveal the name and release date.

The Sweet Escape will be released on December 5th.

Hear first single, Wind it Up is a Sound of Music meets hip hop track produced by Pharrell Williams.

I love it .

I've been playing it out on my computer since it leaked today. LOVE IT!!! I love Fergie (or I guess I should say really like) but move over because Gwen is coming back!!!

Yes!!! Finally some good music this year!!! I'm really looking forward to the new album.

Wow. This came out of nowhere. I didn't even know Gwen was working on a new album, let alone having it released 2 months from now.

It's not new though, which is so dissapointing. The songs on the album are all songs brought back from the dead from the LAMB sessions. She even sang 2 of them on her tour last year. It sounds more like a half assed attempt to sell more CDs, instead of taking her time with a new solo or ND record.

i agree with eberg, but I'm not familiar with the Lamb sessions.

I'm not really feelin it. Then again, I don't really like Pharrell as a producer. All of his stuff sound too much alike.

Here she is performing "Wind It Up" on her Harajuku Tour last year:

And performing her other "new" song "Orange County Girl" on the same tour:

I LOVE both songs even if they were recorded a long time ago. It sounds better than what's on most radio right now.

Didnt she just have a baby why isnt she at home nursing?

I like Gwen or i should say i like No Doubt. "Dont' Speak" , "Bathwater".

I much prefer "Sweet Escape", "Wind it up" samples Sound of Music too much. We need some original music.

You can best believe that Britney is going to come harder than this.

Not liking the song at all yet. Maybe someday. The music just doesn't seem to flow nicely with the lyrics. I hate to say this but I am not the biggest Pharrell fan. Most of his stuff just seem repetitive to me. That's just my own opinion.

Pharrell's okay, but he needs his Neptunes partner Chad to complete him.

I like it. It took me a while to get used to it, though.
