It's been a crazy few weeks. State testing is over (don't ask). Actually, my students did fairly well -68% passed; bu overall, my building failed the exams...
I found out today my request to attend Advanced Placemen training down in Norman, Oklahoma was approved. Not sure if the teacher from teh other middle school is going or not. I may be driving around OKC in a big red SUV by myself...
I've learned my best friend is transferring to a different building. I uunderstand her reasons and support her, but it sucks that I won't be able to hang out with her during our planning time. Several others are still debating whether to retire or stay. I think my building is in for a large turnover this year. Any teachers need a job? Let me know and I'll point you in the righ direction and even be a reference for ya'!
The other shocking news is that I will be the building AVID (Achievement Via Individual Development) coordinator. Since my best friend is transferring, she recommended me for the job she was to do next year. It's more work for me, but it also comes with a $3000 supplemental pay. I may be regretting this decision after the San Diego trip this summer.
Okay, it's 10 o'clock. Time for this little one to hit the bed...
