This isn't one of those unrequited love, straight crushes or one sided love scenarios because I vow that I'd never fall in love with a guy who won't return my feelings. If I have a crush on a guy and finds out he's straight, the feelings will go away immediately (for some reason). I have had those crushes over the years and I have successfully given up/backed off easily as I don't want to waste time.
Anyway, so I'm a college student. When spring quarter began a few months ago, I noticed a very good looking guy in my English class. He's one of those "hot, tall, muscular" guys who probably has it all and can get anyone he wants.
I personally don't consider myself bad looking at all. I also don't consider myself HOT or VERY attractive. But it's strange that I noticed him staring me A LOT. It all started a few days after class began. Usually when the professor hasn't arrive, the students have to wait in the hallway and he would always be talking to his 'buddies'. That day, when I arrived and stood in the hallway waiting, when he noticed me standing there. He started to stare at me. I usually notice it when people stare at me so I was a bit excited because he was good looking and all. At first I thought he was looking at me because my hair was a mess or I thought it was something else that brought to his attention but other people weren't looking at me. I even went to the restroom during class and I looked normal, no bad hair day etc.
Then after that, I would notice him looking at me or staring at me from the other side of the classroom. And when I look back at him, he would turn away. It was pretty obvious.
The quarter is about to end in two weeks and I STILL notice him staring at me. Sometimes he would smile at me too. And I would smile back but we haven't spoken to each other yet. The reason why we haven't had the chance to talk to each other is because the class is a lecture class. There's no discussion. We just listen to the professor lecture us on subjects etc.
Also, another reason why I am hesitant to start a conversation with him is because I saw him walking around campus with a woman, HOLDING HANDS. So obviously he's in a relationship with a woman and most likely straight. (Unless he's bisexual).
But I'm still confused at why he kept looking at me for the past few weeks.
Has this happened to anyone? Has anyone at school or work stared at you whenever you're near them. Or simply like to look at you?

Also, let me be clear that I DO NOT intend to start a conversation with him even though there's two weeks left of school. I'm also graduating so most likely, we won't see each other again. The reason is because I can't think of anything to ask him or talk to him about and it would be very embarrassing (at least for me.) Not to mention he's surrounded by people in class. His jock friends etc.
I guess you can say I do have a little crush on him. But my question is, have you ever had a hot guy stare at you / or smile at you. Not once, but A LOT of times? Does this mean anything? Do straight guys do that? And what would you do in this situation?
I really should be focusing on my finals but this has been on my mind.

It happened to me where this gorgeous guy use to stare at me in one of my math classes. He was tall, dark features of an italian guy, and a football player. He would stand in the most awkward spot every class and look at me. I never reciprocated because he made me nervous and I was a new gay. He turned out to be one of those guys who has a "roommate" and they are inseparable. I've heard rumors they are together, and they look like it.

I don't think you should let this go by. Since your graduating, you have nothing to lose. This is one of those "what if" moments. Stare at him one class and gauge his reaction. If he smiles or acts cute, then maybe come to class early to say hi and introduce yourself (or do it after class).

I have finals though so I really don't want this to destroy my confidence and grades. If I try and he was confused at why I'm speaking to him, I'd be really embarrassed. And honestly, people in college rarely introduce themselves to a complete stranger, especially in lecture classes with no communications necessary. And besides, if he's really interested, then he's in the closet and has a GF. Those kind of guys are really hard to deal with.

He's hot and good looking but that's not enough for me to develop special feelings for him. So It's not a big loss for me. But I'm just really curious why he would be looking at me constantly. I keep thinking to myself "Would I be staring and looking at a very pretty girl in class? Nope. I don't."

Thanks for telling me about your experience. Did you ever find out if that guy ever came out?

Please somehow find it within yourself to say something to him or failure to do so may end up haunting you for a long time. Something along the line of you graduating and how there are things and people you will miss - anything to break the ice for you. I think you have absolutley nothing to lose by saying hi considering you are just days away from graduating and wont see him again Go for it dude

Do you really think I should? I mean, I would be really flatter if he does like me but I personally am too much of a chicken to start a conversation with him.

My plan is to maybe come to class early and sit next to him and see if he talks to me. But he sits with like 5 of his friends. And if they see me sitting on their seats one day, they might shift to another area of the classroom.

There was also this one time when I overheard them talking about a certain party and hot girls with big boobs. But he was just laughing though.

And honestly, the chance of him being straight is pretty high. He has a GF, jock friends (they're muscular like him but very unattractive both inside and out -at least the way they talk about naked women in class.) So I really don't want to pursue this. I may regret in the future but I'm sure there are better guys out there who's gay and available.

Besides, aside from the drool worthy looks and muscles, I don't think there's anything special about him. (But then I haven't really talked to him so I wouldn't know.)

Kinda surprised your able to control it. XD Anyway why not wait for the opportunity when he's all alone? I have a feeling he'd be more willing to talk to you without one of hos jock friends around.

I have been burnt before falling for a straight friend of mine. So been there, done that. Not planning on ever doing it again. Haha

The only time I have seen him around campus is in that English class and the cafeteria. And he's always around people. So it's pretty impossible to find him alone to talk to him. Unless I stalk him (which I don't plan on doing.)

I just wish I know why he notices me all the time. It makes me curious.

I think the fact that he smiles at you suggest some level of interest...especially if he maintains eye contact for any length of time when you look back. Now, I should add the disclaimer that said interest may not be romantic or sexual, it could be as simple as you wore a T-shirt or some other article of clothing with a relatively obscure reference on it that he gets/understands.

Regardless, it's next to impossible (imho) to gauge someone's intent under these circumstances. You'd have to talk to him to get a real feel for what his staring is about, which seems to be difficult given the situation. I can relate to your situation however, as I have one somewhat similar.

There's this guy who works in a local restaurant I sometimes visit for lunch meetings. I think he's much younger than I am, but he's extremely hot. I'll be 37 in November and he looks like he might be 24. I should probably mention here that I tend to like slightly younger guys and that even at 36, I still get carded to buy smokes despite the fact that I'm starting to go gray haha. I remember the first time I saw him, I thought he was hot as hell but he didn't register on my gaydar at all.

Nevertheless, he makes near constant eye contact whenever he sees me (which I am a huge fan of) and has this sly smirk on his face whenever he speaks to me. The last time I was in with one of my account reps, who is pretty hot himself yet 100% straight, and as he's ringing us up he said "separate right?" while looking me dead in the face. My rep says "no, I got this" and gives him his card.

Now, cute cashier guy has this slightly sad look on his face. So I turn to my rep and asks him how his wife and kids are. Sad look goes away. The cashier hands my rep our food and warns us that the containers are hot and to be careful as we walk to our table while staring at me the entire time. I catch him looking in our direction several times during the course of our meal. I meet his gaze and smile. He smiles back. I make no further moves because I'm a chicken shit but I do believe there is "something" there. I happen to think he's out of my league, so I'm not going to push the issue.

My point is, and I apologize for being long-winded...it's one of my bad habits when I write, I had to interact with him directly in order to get what I wanted out of him which was merely some level of confirmation of intent/interest. Even if nothing becomes of it, you would be doing yourself a disservice to not at least find out what his staring is about. Who knows...you might have been staring at your next boyfriend this whole time. You'll never know unless you take that first step. Trust your instincts...they will rarely lead you astray.
