Welcome!! That is a great introduction!! I practice law in Washington State, and went to law school in San Francisco. :) What is/was your practice area? I'm a criminal defense attorney.

Oh my god that is a great reply!!! :D :D I will have to take a look at that case the California Supreme Court granted review on.

As I mentioned I went to law school in California, and man I don't envy you. I think the California Penal Code is longer than all the RCWs (Revised Code of Washington) combined. LOL (I'm only kidding a little there). Case law in California is also so confusing - court of appeals case get depublished when the California Supreme Court rules on them, and there is just generally A LOT more California law than in Washington.

But yeah, I think Criminal Defense lawyers are a happier bunch than insurance defense lawyers, or family law lawyers and so on ... Although I wouldn't say so about Dependency Law lawyers who are very often lumped in with criminal defense firms and agencies. Representing someone who is about to have their parental rights in a child terminated by a state agency is just exhausting from what I gather. And those cases never go away - the attorneys just seem to live with them forever through reviews and hearings and so on.

In Benitez, were you able to get involved with that due to your sexual orientation? Are you out? Just so you know, (since it is not clear from my avatar & this has been known to confuse a few guys here) I'm not a guy - I'm just a very ordinary straight girl here.
