Good evening, everyone. I certainly hope you are doing better than I am, tonight. /facepalm.

My allergies have let me have it, tonight, omg! The endless sneezing, runny nose, sticky, watery eyes, the feeling that someone took a crowbar to my face...:##:

Honestly, if I knew there was someone who actually would cover me at my store, tonight, I'd call in, but alas, I don't have such a luxury...(at least not until I win the Mega Millions, anyway )

I've taken a once-a-day allergy pill, and a 2-pill-dose of sinus meds. And I've drank just about all the orange juice in my fridge. I do feel somewhat better, considering my head no longer feels like it's in vice grips.

My question is, is there anything besides that, that I could either take or do? Any home remedies that anyone would recommend? I'm desparate and will try anything!

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. (*8*) ..|

Pseudoephedrine , and ibuprofen do the trick for me.

Feel better!

hot honey water with
fresh lemon including pulp.

Screw the bottle juice....processing ruins it.

Go to fresh citrus and eat boy.

Vitamin c, a bit of drug and a laugh

I'd be careful about mixing too many different remedies, unless you're wanting to lose your hair, your teeth, your liver, and even your kidneys. A rare occurrence will probably not have any serious ill effects, but it is still risky business. You never know what kind of side effects can be caused by drug interaction.

Use a netti pot. Look it up on the internet. You can buy a plastic bottle version at drugstores or Wal Mart called Netti Med. Basically it is a nasal rinse with a saline solution which cleans out your sinus cavities. My doctor gave me one to use when I had a sinus infection and I thought it was the dumbest idea I had ever heard of. After I tried it the first time I was hooked. No colds or infections since I started using it in December. My doctor said that it will work to relieve my allergy symptoms in the fall, I'm allergic to goldenrod and rag weed.

The symptoms you describe probably aren't just allergies. It sounds like you have a cold.

I've used the Neill Med Sinus Rinse kit for years. They also make Netti Pots but for me, the sinus rinse is easier and more effective. Both are usually sold at WalMart and most major drug stores. The sinus rinse kit was recommended to me by my ENT doc.

If you suffer from continuous sinus infections, you may want to check with an ENT doc and inquire about the functional endoscopic sinus surgery. I had it and septoplasty done back in 2008. It has made a true difference in how I breathe and ultimately, how I feel.

Thanks for all the advice and well wishes, and even the 1 PM I got. I'll look into all of these.

Thankfully, I'm much better tonight than last night. After I took the two sinus pills last night, I felt much better within an hour, and progressively better throughout the night at work, even though I still felt lousy this morning, when I got off. Tonight, after having had 9 hours of sleep today, I feel much, much better, with the only problems being that my nose still feels somewhat sniffly, although, I'm not running for the Kleenex every 5 seconds, and the internal nasal passages feel raw, which is normal after having wiped my nose so much.

Thank you all. (*8*) ..|

I know that no one ever listens to me, but I'll say it once again.

Get Bayberry Root/Bark capsules from nature's way. Take 2 in the morning, 2 at lunch and 2 with dinner with a glass of water EVERY DAY for SIX MONTHS without fail.

This will CURE* you of allergies. Yes, it takes time and is a slow process. In the meantime keep taking your current allergy meds as needed, but you may notice after 2 months or so that you are needing less and less.

I have done this after suffering from lifelong allergies and taking loads of meds. Someone told me to try it. It's natural, won't interfere with my current meds, and what do I have to loose.

I did, for 6 months. It's been 19 years now without ANY allergies, no repeat treatment.

Take it as you will.

* (I'm not a doctor, so technically I am not allowed to make such statements. I am saying that it in fact cured ME. Your experience may differ. Bayberry is a nutritional supplement.)

Yes, these days disclaimers are mandatory.

Hehe... well, a lot of my real life friends think it's all in my head when I tell them about natural cures for things that have most certainly worked for me as well. They don't listen either.

I take no offense. But it seems that most people are so conditioned to taking a pill for everything that they refuse to even consider an alternative that's also NOT harmful to your body.

The only drawback to these "cures" is that they work gradually, over time. Everyone today wants a quick fix.

Anyway.... back to the regularly scheduled thread. (!)

Hi guy,

I'm with you.......its part of California heritage I guess....

the only 'quick fix' I go for is 69 and quick is an hour EH?
