Help identify series and episode

I really hope someone can help me.

A couple years ago I saw a episode of a US criminal series about a gau killing his boyfriend in fear of his father.

Both guys were teenagers and it happened right after a fotball game that they had won and were fooling around on a parkinglot when the guys father aproached and he killed his boyfriend.

Do anyone remember this episode and series?

Might it be this "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" episode "Closet" from April 2008 (Season 9, Episode 16)? Not sure if it quite fits, but the synopsis reads:

After investment banker Jeremy Haynes is found dead, suspicions turns to his boyfriend Lincoln Haver, a professional football player who could lose everything if the truth of his sexuality became public. When news of Haver's sexual preference comes out, Benson comes under fire for her relationship with a reporter.

The plot sounds somewhat familiar. If had I had to guess, I'd say the series is "Cold Case".

I am sorry but I went through all episodes and it wasnt that series.

It aired a couple years ago.
I think that the killers father found him and his boyfriend in bed together a couple days before the game where the murder took place.

Ringing any bells?

Sorry if you've already went through things BUT do you remember any of the actors or character names or setting? Who were the cops who investigated? Male and female cops?
Recognize the actors from other shows or movies?
