It could have been a "marriske" (no fucking dictionary has a translation for that .. sorry).

they come in all shapes and sizes.

hpv-warts look similar, but also not always the same here are two pics:

is everything possible.

if it was an anal wart it IS possible that you caught it. whether you got a small cut or not is not important, it spreads through skin to skin contact.
but while it is one of the more highly infective stds it does not mean that you "have" to have it. so stay calm and watch the area where you had contact closely. if you see something quickly go to a doc to check it out. best remove the warts asap so that they don't spread, and when it's just one it should be easier to control them. there is no "cure" for them. if the body doesn't resolve this on it's own - so the infected skin has to be removed. there are also creams which are supposed to help the immune system to fight the virus, but as far as i know they are usually only used after removing the warts (your doctor might know more, or karabulut will correct me ;) ).
oh and the area of contact can be almost anywhere if you touched the wart, you could have the virus on the hand and spread it elsewhere.
but also .. for now stop panicking .. and I would still ask that guy about it. if it was really a "fleshy" kind of growth it probably was more likely a "marriske" (hope someone can say the real word :( )

It's difficult to say what it was based upon your description of what you saw on his ass. One thing to note is that typically anogenital warts come in "clumps" not in a single tag. And they are not always visible even if your face is up close and personal with someone's ass.

The interesting thing is that most sexually active people are getting exposed to HPV fairly often. It's epidemic in college towns and you'd be surprised how many straight people are carriers. The odd thing is that many people can get exposed but never develop warts- we're not sure whether they are immune or whether they become carriers but never actually develop a wart.

The good news is that it's uncertain whether this was condyloma. And even if it were condyloma, there's no certainty that you'll develop warts.

The bad news is that HPV is transmitted by contact. So, even though your penis was just browsing his hole, that could be enough to transmit the virus. HPV has a fairly long incubation from the point of infection to the point where you can actually see a wart- it can be months.

But again, you're panicking over this when you don't know whether you were exposed to HPV. There's no certainty here that the guy had HPV, or that you were exposed and not everyone who is exposed develops HPV or shows signs of warts.

So relax. Just cross that bridge when if and when you get to it.

PS A marriske appears to be a peri-anal thrombosis.

For your peace of mind, see a doctor...early to hopefully nip it in the bud.

the doctor cannot do anything unless the OP actually develops warts himself.

I had hemorrhoids and ended up with a small, but not so small, fleshy protuberance after the swelling went down. The doc told me about it and said it would be permanent. Maybe your friend had hemorrhoids in the past.

As I (and indirectly Karabulut) said - unless you see warts, the doc can't do much.
It can take months until warts develop. Or maybe they won't appear at all, or maybe you are not infected either.
IF you see warts, go to the doc. No need to tell him the story, he will know what it is.

Look, first calm down, even if you got it, it's not the end of the world. When I was 21, I let a guy fuck me who had warts. I found them when I was fooling around in a car with him, but had no idea what they were. I said to myself, I'm not going down on that but he can fuck me! Brilliant, eh?
Anyway, got the warts, like six of them, went to the docs, who had a lot of gay paitents, and he coated them with something that burned like hell at first, and they were gone after a week or so if I remember right. They have never come back.
