Help me!! Eveything is BIG and the color is OFF! [MERGED]

I don't wanna think about System Restore. Won't that fuck my computer to Hell??

My prayer for Gameboy 11: God give me patience but give it to me NOW!

Do you know what kind of video card you have? If you have a nVidia, download drivers here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

For ATI download here: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Installing video drivers is just a simple matter of downloading the installer and running them. It sounds like to me you accidentally removed your old ones.

Oh, and afterward you'll need to reset your resolution (rightclick/properties on desktop background).

No, he's talking about reverting to a restore point, not the CD-type system restore. Depending on if it's enabled and when the last restore point snapshot was taken, you can fix your system this way.

Either way, can we check to see if your video driver is installed? (this is for XP)
  1. Right-click on My Computer on the Desktop and select Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab.
  3. Click the Device Manager button.
  4. A hardware tree appears. Look for Display adapters and expand it if you can.
If there's a driver problem you'll have a question mark on the device's icon. You'll need to reinstall the video driver. This can be done by downloading the display device's video driver from the manufacturer's or PC supplier's support site or by using the System Restore to revert to a snapshot where your drivers were ok.

In addtion (added after posting) who manufactured your PC?

Sounds like you removed/deleted your video card drivers. Assuming you do not have (or don't know where) your CD is with the drivers for you video card, we need to know your computer make and model (like a Dell Dimension 3200 or whatever) in order to help you find and download the correct drivers.

If you have a CD with your video card drivers on it, you ought to be able to just pop that CD in and run the install program for your video card and then restart.

My dear dear boy
1) Find nearest window
2) Open said window
3) Take computer and throw through open window
This isn't going to help your computer problem, but it's going to help with your frustration

If you have a manufactured PC, as opposed to one that was custom-built, you can go to the manufacturer's site, enter your model info, and will be able to find the video drivers you need.

Asking Windows to find the update itself is unfortunately like asking a toddler to drive himself to school in the morning.

The problem is solved. Don't know how it was fixed. ^_^
