Im so embaressed about my stomach, i'm constantly having to suck it in, here's a few shots of me below.

I have been watching what I eat lately, and i do a few crunches before i sleep for 15-30 minutes, I primarily don't wanna lose my ass, and my body weight fluctuates a lot, which is why I avoid working out, I just wanna have a nice toned stomach or at least stomach looking like i'm in my second trimester, and if possible divert that fat towards my ass.

If anyone can help me, please do, I'm so lost and self conscious, i need a road map on this.

As far as I'm aware, it's not possible to target fat in just one place.

However, there are some guys here who are very knowledgeable about fitness and working out etc, so they can probably tell you something better.

Good luck with it all! (*8*)

Try rocking your hips forward and pulling your chest up and out about 3 inches, and pushing your shoulders back 2 or 3 inches. Better posture will give you a more accurate picture of what your working with. When you start working out you will start losing fat from everywhere, including your ass. To counter act this you want to increase the size of your gluts, hamstrings and quad muscles. Also start working on your upper arm and chest area, increased muscle mass through your arms and shoulders will create an optical illusion that your stomach is smaller by contrast. To tone your stomach you need to do a variety of excercises not just crunches. Only doing crunches will build muscle mass and will actually make your stomach bigger initially. ( the size of your abs and the layer of fat over them. Since you seem most concerned about your midsection don't forget to work your lower back to help support everything going on in the front. Hope this helps

Adam, if I was built like you I would be the happiest man on earth. I have struggled with being overweight my whole adult life. I'm down to 250 lbs (from over 300) but it is a constant struggle. Lower your carb intake and exercise.

Here's a really good suggestion: do cardio after you wake up, but before you eat breakfast.

The reasoning behind this is that overnight, the body's glucose levels go to a baseline: ~5 mM is the concentration in our blood after we wake up. If you do your cardio and workout before you eat breakfast, that forces your body to convert the stored glucose (called glycogen) into glucose, and use that for energy.

Once you do your cardio/workout, eat a breakfast that is relatively balanced. Have a muffin, eggs, sausage. Anything that has protein, fats and carbohydrates. And do a somewhat moderate portioned meal -- if you are going to do more workouts later in the day, then make it on the large size. The extra food will keep you going through the day.

Oh, and eat a meal or snack every 2, 3 hours. That will keep your metabolism high and running all day. :)

Unfortunately, your body indiscriminately eliminates fat as you exercise and diet. Your body eliminates fat from ALL parts of your body, not just the part you want it eliminated from.

That's right, diet and exercise is the key. Find out your basal metabolic rate, and then subtract around 400 calories per day from that body weight. And exercise. This will help you lose weight relatively quickly, but takes discipline. Make sure the calories you consume are all healthy (no empty calories like beer or soda).

Good luck!

You can continue doing what you're doing- abdominal exercises and watching what you eat. That will help.

But the big that you can do is step back from the focus you have on your stomach and take a look at your body from the neck to your hips. What will make a big difference is if you add cardio and upper body weight work. If you broaden your back and add a little muscle to your shoulders and chest, you will have a more tapered upper body which will take away focus from your waistline.

All too often, guys get focused on their guts and they think that dieting is the answer when a more complete weight and cardio routine will get them much closer to losing the gut and bring the body back into normal athletic proportion.

Being healthy and fit is a lifestyle - not a quick fix.

Take note of what KB writes above - he knows what he is talking about. :)
