hi guys, i ripped some clips from some dvds with dvd shrink, but when i put it into windows video maker only the audio plays, the file is a VOB file, so how would i make a complication of clips and post them onto youtube? thanks much! :)

As far as I'm aware, WMM only accepts wmv or avi files, typically compressed with the DV format. You'll need to rip them into that format first.

Goodness gracious me, you are going to put gigabytes on youtube !
Please explain exactly what you want to do thanks and why? There maybe a better alternative
anyway videohelp is a place to explore and if you give more info we may be able to help and please observe copyright thanks

ok i work for an company and we have a couple of performers coming to perform and we nned to advertise the show so they have dvd clips, and the boss wants me to make a little ad, so ripping the video clip then putting them together and adding text and making them transition one after the other.

Rip the files as AVI files using the DV codec. Do your editing, then output an mp4 or H264 file for uploading.

How come your boss dumped that job on you since you dont seem to have the knowledge ? If he's making money out of it I think it would be best to get an experienced multimedia person to do it. If it is for a charity or low budget public space then I think it would be best to find a multimedia student who is looking for experience and increasing their portfolio.I feel this is far too big of an adventure for you to start on for your first attempt since it involves many stages.
Anyway you can check out videohelp.com but I suspect you'll get a headache
If the performers have myspace or even youtube already it would be easier to use their links on the web page
