"Hero's"--cancelled!!!

o no i loved the show they didn't even wrap up all the storys :( the only characters i ever cared truly about was nikki and tracy so i guess we will never find out about barbara witch is a shame i wanted to see what powers she had i guess we can hope the rumours about there being a 2 or 4 hour special to wrap everything up is true o i hope so

This is what happens when you bite off more than you can chew...the writers weren't skilled enough to hold such a winding narrative, and one hour episodes with 22 episodes a season isn't practical in regards to fleshing out solid characters.

It was good for one season at least.

Thank God! The show was GREAT first season. Then, the producers got greedy and scrapped the original plan of having new Heroes each year, with one or two previous Heroes as an overlap to their introduction. Each season ended up being a repeat, storyline and all, of the season before. Heroes had so much potential, too bad they got off track.

well looks like I don't have to watch that last episode thats still on my DVR...haha

I wonder if Zach Q will come out, now that the show is over. I know, he was never IN, but....you know what I mean.

I am disappointed though that the show did not keep up the momentum from first season. It could have been awesome with the right producers/writers in charge.

Goodbye Heroes. :( Although this season felt like it could have been much better, I was hoping for a redemption.

b is heartbroken over this.
i am looking forward to not having to try and keep track of another story line.

Season 1 was amazing, but the Writers Strike screwed up season 2. The new writers they hired for Season 3 nearly destroyed the show, so Tim Kring fired them and began writing the episodes again. . .but the damage was irreparable.

I completely stopped watching after they screwed up Hiro's story, but the way the writers treated the death of characters on the show is what really pissed me off; They would introduce someone with an interesting new power, and then kill them off almost immediately. If an important cast member died, they would just say "Oh, well they weren't really dead; we can save them/bring them back somehow, no matter what." Claire was actually COMPLETELY INVINCIBLE for awhile.

They tried to set up all this drama, yet there was no consequence to any of it. Sylar absorbing Claire's power was supposed to kill her and doom all of the other heroes, yet he magically gets her power without having to eat her brain. . .and Sylar just really does nothing with the power for the next few seasons except waste everyone's time. They spend half a season setting up this ultimate battle, yet it suddenly takes place behind a set of closed doors and you get to see NONE of it.

Ugh. . .It all became completely mindless bullshit. >8(

Obviously, I'm less than happy with this news...

But I can admit that the show had a lot of flaws; including what has already been mentioned.

I love Zachary Quinto, in quite a few ways, but Sylar never should have come back after Season 1...Or even if they had brought him back, by the end of Season 2 he should never have gotten his powers back and been left a broken and boring normal human being.

The problem was the show always ended up revolving around a few characters; Peter & Nathan, Sylar, Claire, etc...While taking some of their stronger characters, like Matt, and sort of pushing them to the background and making them do the same thing every season.

Claire is another good example; after season 1, her and Noah/HRG were all lovely dovey again. Then by the start of season 2, she had her teenage angst against her father back...Then he died and she regretted it, then he came back and it settled a little...Then season 3, she was right back to telling him to piss off again.

So, there were just a few problems with the way characters were used and the way writers kept falling back into old storylines even though they were resolved and we didn't need to see them all again.

That being said, I still ENJOYED the show.

I don't think I ever walked away from an episode and thought it was horrible; I would say it wasn't as good as another episode, but I never hated one.

If anything, maybe this 2 - 4 hour mini-series will develop and they'll be able to give the show a good final send-off, while avoiding the traps we've all seen.

Or, perhaps in a few years, a reboot could be attempted with mostly new characters...Though some of the old characters NEED to come back if the series is ever rebooted...Matt & Noah come to mind...

I stoped watching after a few episodes into this season cause it was just boring. I wish it had been cancelled earlier cause Season 1 was the best then it went downhill.

Yeah after season 1 the story line just made no sense and they should have changed villains

As much as I loved the show. It was about time.

It's only sad that they didn't get a proper end .. this one is .. well better than nothing at least.

I loved the first season. Than the second season happened and it sucked so bad. I thought that maybe it was the writers strike. So I started watching the 3rd season. I gave up half way through and never looked back. I am very loyal with shows I start to watch. Watched Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Smallville, straight through. This had to be bad for me to give it up. I gave up Flash Forward also this year. But V I will stay with. That show is really really good.
